A variation of Chinese harvest moon cakes, I found this in "China : the culture" book. Very tasty and rich, so be careful! add more vanilla, if you so wish.

    Recipe #166556

From Family Fun. This isn't so much a recipe as a cute preschool snack idea. Ingredients represent straw, sticks and bricks used to build the pigs' houses.

    Recipe #166573

These can be made days in advance, covered and frozen, just remove from the freezer, thaw and pop in the oven, these make a wonderful weekend snack or they are wonderful to serve at a get together! If possible purchase the extra thin sandwich bread for this, thinly sliced pumpernickle party rounds work well also. Double or triple the recipe and keep some ready in the freezer for snacks!

Oyster cracker nibbles are great for Christmas gift trays or just snacking on during the holidays. My fabulous MIL gave me this recipe.

I haven't tried these yet; I'm not big on sweets, but they looked good for when I do get that occasional craving.

Quicky, simple late night snack! From Busy Womans Cookbook, (an all time favorite)

    Recipe #66349

This is the cutest thing to make for a St. Patrick's Day potluck. I found this on-line, (can't remember where!), for hubby to take to an office St. Patty's potluck. (For an added "tah-dah", go to a party supply store, and buy a plastic black or green leprechaun's pot to put the gold coins in.)

My dad LOVES these! And he LOVES regular, unhealthy potato chips, so I'm MORE than happy to make these for him. We both like things spicy. I suggest serving with Laura Divine's Low Fat Hummus (40517). Adjust spices to your taste - they are just estimates anyway - I do spices by the senses - feel, smell, and look. Can be easily doubled, tripled, etc - just need to do the oven steps a couple more times to account for the extra chips. Optional Equipment: spray bottle filled with water

    Recipe #58201

Fast LC snack/treat from Laura Dolson,Your Guide to Low Carb Diets on About.com. "You can start making these yummy spiced pecans when the guests pull into the driveway, and by the time they get into the house it will be filled with delicous smells. Minutes later, the pecans are in a dish, ready to be nibbled on."
