Smoothies, Shakes and Other Blender Drinks

I just got a new blender for Christmas, so this is just a collection of smoothies and stuff that have caught my eye and I just thought I'd share. I don't really care for bananas so most of these don't contain banana. These are only ones I want to try, not ones I've tried- all of those are in my reviews.

This is what my smoothie princess (she is 3!) decided she wanted to try this morning. Very tasty and one I did not want to lose because it was a nice pick me up after a workout!

    Recipe #131459

    From Glenn Tankard's "Tropical Fruit"

If you're searching for something uniquely frosty, try this tasty interpretation of those classic summertime thirst quenchers

This is a thick smoothie made with dried apricots and nectar, cashews, raisins. You'll be getting a rich source of calcium, iron, potassium, magnesium and carotenes. Now that's the way to start a day! Or a healthy lunch. Be sure to use fresh plump dried apricot and raisins. If not be sure to rehydrate.

A refreshing South of the Border thirst quencher posted in response to a recipe request. From the Houston Chronicle. Chilling time not included in the prep time. Yield depends on quantity of melon used.

I went running for a bit too long this morning, and needed a quick pick-me-up before getting ready for work, and this is what I came up with. It was pretty good. You can skip the oatmeal if you don't like the flavor, I just needed an extra stomach-filler.

We make this for breakfast daily. It gives us fruit, vegetables, dairy and soy protein. We have shared it with many people and they seem to love it as much as we do. Hope you like it, too.

    Recipe #103407

Another healthy way to use up fruit.

    Recipe #89755

A Quick and Easy twist on Horchata (Mexican Rice Milk) and Smoothies. It makes a nice creamy drink that is perfect for breakfast or as a sweet treat poured over ice on warm day. (I shortcut this recipe by using my recipe for vanilla yogurt. Also equally yummy adjusted fat free/sugar free)

To suit your taste, add more sugar or use a sugar substitute.

A quick smoothie - honeydew is one of my favorite fruits. The honey lends extra sweetness, and the lime adds some pleasant tartness.

This is a great way for women to get in the soy that they need. You can use a soy yogurt to make this a completely vegan drink.

SOB stands for strawberry, orange, banana. I was tired of paying so much for smoothies, so I decided to make my own. Enjoy!
