Just as the title says, this is easy to prepare; but it tastes just wonderful. My SIL prepared this for us one day and I had to have the recipe. Note that the alcohol in the wine cooks off; this dish is acceptable for children.
I make do sometimes, as most of us do. A simple recipe in a rice cooker. Inexpensive and pantry friendly. This is probably bland for some people, but it would be tummy friendly to sensitive stomachs, as well as filling. Use a rice cooker, except for the skillet to crumble and brown the ground turkey in. Substitute as you like. (Use left over chicken or diced roast, perhaps?) Keep it simple.
Strangely enough, I got this recipe over at amazon.com, given by their financial blogger. It was he who dubbed this recipe "simplest and tastiest." By giving this recipe,he was making the point that you save money and eat better by cooking at home rather than eating out. This does sound tasty to me and I can't wait to try it So I'm saving the recipe here.
This uses ground beef and jarred beef gravy. If you had the ground beef already cooked you could finish dinner in the time it takes for the noodles to cook. I usually make it from scratch but if you are in a big hurry or like me have several of those jars sitting around and I don't know what to do with them.
I found this online at www.sparkpeople.com. I made it and was blown away by how yummy it was. I did not add white rice to the recipe, but you can easily get away with many many cups of cooked rice with how much sauce this makes. The onion soup packet is just a reg. sized one. Some say they are 1oz others say 1 1/4 oz. I'm sure either will work. UPDATE: I have since made this with regular cream of mushroom soup and it was wicked salty and tasted completely different for me. I recommend only using the low-fat/fat free kind.
I can't believe I like this dish as much as I do. I was surprised. This is a variation of a rather bland scrambled egg mix that I found on the net but turning it onto an egg foo yung is really special. Add your own favorite things but this is a good start. If you add water chestnuts, ham, shrimp, pork, whatever- then you will have to adjust the cooking time. This is a basic recipe- make it your own. But an easy recipe to amend- as soon as the egg is set- then it is done! I really love this and it is so good for a family on a budget or a bachelor short on time.
