I have accepted an egg salad cook off challenge, and am delighted to submit my entry here, because it is a winner. Developed in my own kitchen with no assistance from outside sources, other than internal verbal encouragement. Lip-Smacks and loud Cheers of YUM YUM could be heard throughout the house; every great chef strives to hear YUM YUM. Warning: Please do not attempt to express an opinion, with your mouth full of egg salad; it is off-putting, and not a pretty sight.
A fantastic recipe, a bit different from the others on the site, as it contains more spices. I usually have these in the lounge before settling my guests down for dinner, and they always go really quickly. I don't remember where I got it from, but it's certainly a favorite and I'll be making them for Christmas eve!
These are best made the day before, and popped in the oven just before you need them.
Another one of Mom's recipes. (I know I know, What can I say, I love her cooking!) She wouldn't give me the recipe for years but then I managed to work it out of her... and then I ran right here to share! Ok, so I've had it a long time, but I still thought I'd share anyway. Enjoy!
This is a wonderful broccoli recipe which takes only minutes to prepare once your broccoli is steamed, and may be completely made and refrigerated for up to 48 hours in advance until ready to bake. Add in some cooked crumbled bacon also if desired --- the exact
measurements do not really matter with this recipe, you can adjust all ingredients to taste, no matter how much you use the casserole will still be delicious. You will love this!
I got this recipe a few years back from another recipe site and the whole family enjoys it. Quick to put together for a different holiday side dish. Now that I look at the recipe again a little drizzle of lemon juice might be nice.
These potatoes are a hit everytime I make them. I received this recipe from my grandmother who always liked to experiment with ingredients, and these potatoes became a winner. The cream cheese and sour cream give them a smooth taste. This recipe is great for people who like sour cream on their mashed potatoes.
I got this recipe from America's Test Kitchen. I saw them make it on TV and decided to try it myself. It turned out great, just as they said it would. So why should you try it? It's the perfect combination of a sweet and savory cornbread that will please everyone.
I like this salad because it isn't fruity like many spinach salads out there. My cousin always brings this to family dinners and everybody loves it, even the ones that don't like spinach! Be sure to make the dressing the night before! The original recipe called for 1 lb. of swiss cheese. I think that's a bit much and usually make it with 1/2 lb.
I was watching Oprah one day and she had Dr. Oz on talking about his diet book. They made a smoothie and I tried to make it by memory and came up with this. It was so different than the one posted on her website I figured I'd just post my version because I know it's good! I like this because it's so easy... I drink one for breakfast every morning on the way to work.
One of my favorite mushroom sauce recipes! This is good even without the Parmesan, if you like a cheesy sauce then, also 3 minced garlic cloves may be added with the mushrooms --- I most always use this sauce with my recipe #149540 though it's great with anything :)
