    This is quite similar to the potato salads that are sold in plastic containers at the deli department, if you like those salads you will love this dressing, you can increase the mayonnaise slightly to 1-1/2 cups, if you are making a large salad then double the complete recipe, I also add in 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder to the saucepan, you might want to add that in also if you are a garlic lover, I also use seasoned salt in place of white salt, you have the option of using either one. Prep time does not include chilling time. This is a great dressing for potato salad as well as pasta salad, hope you enjoy ;-)

    A creamy dressing with the perfect blend of spices, adjust the amount of dill to suit taste I advise not to use more than 2 teaspoon fresh garlic or it will overpower the dressing, all other amounts may be adjusted to suit taste --- don't even think about serving this dressing until after it's chilled for at least 4 or more hours and the longer the better --- for a lower fat option use low-fat mayonnaise, sour cream and buttermilk --- for Ranch Peppercorn dressing add in 1 tablespoon cracked black pepper or to taste, and for Parmesan ranch dressing add in 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese or to taste --- this makes a fantastic veggie dip!

    Don't even bother with store bought dressing this is just as good if not better, I sometime add in one cold hard-boiled egg but that is only optional, use only mayonnaise for this not salad dressing, Hellman's mayonnaise is the best to use, go easy on the fresh garlic, use only a very small amount or it will over-power the dressing, or use a small amount of garlic powder in place of fresh. Plan ahead this dressing must chill for at least 2 hours or more to blend flavors, don't even think about serving it right away, the flavors will intensify with chilling time. This makes a great topping for burgers too!
