This is a REFRESHING, tangy Salad--low in fat. If you want it creamy and not so low in fat, just add 2 tablespoons mayonnaise.
Be sure to slice the cucumbers and onions very very thin!
Serve as salad or top open faced sandwiches with it!
Spinach and strawberries what an odd combination for a recipe. That is what I thought before trying this the first time. Now I get many requests to bring this for dinner parties. The raspberry wine vinegar adds a marvelous taste, and compliments the first two ingredients. This salad is very eye pleasing in crystal.
Another recipe which I found in Greek chef and restaurateur Theodore Kyriakou’s ‘real greek food', which he co-authored with food writer Charles Campion. So simple, so delicious and so quintessentially Greek! A really quick to make, fabulous side dish to serve with grilled meat and fish dishes, or with pasta and rice dishes. This recipe - for a classic lettuce salad - is from the island of Cos and, apparently, "from everywhere else in Greece"! When you come across a recipe like this one, you cannot be in the least surprised that Kyriakou maintains that “the term “Greek Salad” is one of the most abused in the world”.
This is my all-time most requested recipe! You will not believe it until you see it, even kids will gobble this up. I have served this to children and teenagers who say they hate salads, and then watch them eat 3 helpings of this! Try it, it will become your favorite, trust me!
A green salad that at first sounds strange,or did to me, but I was surprised the first time I tasted it over 10 years ago. Since then, every time I've served it I've been asked for the recipe. All of the ingredients meld very well, surprisingly!
I have never been a fan of any honey mustard dressing I have tasted in a bottle. This made-from-scratch version is divine! Besides making a wonderful stand-alone salad, this is also great topped with chunks or slices of Recipe #145068. This recipe is from Cuisine at Home magazine.
