This is the most delicious coleslaw that you will ever have! I make this for weddings, large socials and in the summer for BBQ's and parties, and there is never anything left it all goes and everyone wants the recipe --- plan ahead the coleslaw needs to be refrigerated for the stated time to blend the flavors, this coleslaw will intensify in flavor with chilling time --- this is not a thick heavy dressing like some other coleslaw recipes it's the perfect texture and flavor and what makes this coleslaw stand out from all others is the fresh lemon juice so please use only fresh I have used bottled in the past and it is just not the same --- the dressing amount will yield enough for two 16-ounce packages prepared coleslaw mix or 1 head of green cabbage --- for one 16-ounce package prepared coleslaw mix use the dressing amounts posted on bottom of recipe and add in 3 or more large of chopped green onions. This is a legit recipe for Hawaiian-style macaroni salad. Get yourself "two scoop rice" (white rice), some nice fried chicken or kalua pork, and it's on.
Note that cooking time does not include chilling time.
A really great guy I used to work with would make this and bring in to share. We all loved it so much and would beg for more! Sounds strange with the grapes, but it's so good! Allow time for salad to chill.
Dressing can be made well ahead to give the sugar a chance to dissolve. I usually clean the broccoli the day before which helps to cut down on the prep time when doing it all in one day. The broccoli is the only ingredient that requires time to prepare. Recipe can be doubled, just be sure to make enough dressing.
A quick and easy salad recipe that is perfect for the summer. Great with BBQ food! The Tarragon wine vinegar really gives this a wonderful flavor. It should chill for at least 2 hours before serving. Recipe adapted from Scandinavian Spice Company for the Zaar World Tour II.
This is a REFRESHING, tangy Salad--low in fat. If you want it creamy and not so low in fat, just add 2 tablespoons mayonnaise.
Be sure to slice the cucumbers and onions very very thin!
Serve as salad or top open faced sandwiches with it!
We had a potluck at work and I tasted this incredible salad. The ingredients blend so well together it's a party on your tongue. This is my favorite salad. This recipe was shared with me by Irene, my coworker. Salad needs to be chilled which is included in cook time.
I found this recipe on Allrecipies a few years back. It is one of my 18 year old daughters all time favorites. I usually make this during the summer months. The steak needs to marinate; I usually have it sit in the marinade all day while I'm at work for more flavor. Please note the prep time does not include marinating.
Spinach and strawberries what an odd combination for a recipe. That is what I thought before trying this the first time. Now I get many requests to bring this for dinner parties. The raspberry wine vinegar adds a marvelous taste, and compliments the first two ingredients. This salad is very eye pleasing in crystal.
This is a foodgasm in a bowl! It is light, refreshing, and oh so good! There are some ingredients in here that sound a little weird, but when you try this luscious treat, you will be a believer too! This is my friend/co-worker's mom's recipe.
This is the original Waldorf Salad recipe which I clipped out of the newspaper several years ago. My mother made this salad often--it must have been a favorite of hers also. Newer versions have left out some of the ingredients which add variety in texture and taste. It's a classic American salad which was developed by the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City.
