This recipe caused quite a stir a few months ago. My grandmother made it once, and then forgot about it completely. My brother recently had a craving for it and called for the recipe. No one seemed to remember it. I searched and searched my recipes until I finally found it. In the interest of never losing it again, I’m posting it here.

SusieQusie & I are in "Recipe Exchange Mode" these dys. Aware of our fondness for oriental cuisine & that my sister (Kathy) often shares her oriental recipes w/me, SQ passed this 1 along to me & acknowledged her source as Graham Kerr who said "This is a low-fat tart/sweet dressing or marinade w/distinctive Asian flavors." Thx SQ! (Time does not include time for dressing to chill)

Great salad dressing from the Fresh Start Cookbook. This dressing is a favorite around our house. Easy to make with ingredients you probably already have on hand.

Most canned salmon is wild, making it a sustainable and convenient choice. The Japanese flavors in the spread are the perfect foil for meaty salmon. I like finding recipes that use canned salmon. I made this and it only took me 15 minutes and I loved it! EatingWell, June 2007. I used 7 grain bread because that is what we had, also -- I didn't use radish sprouts.

This is a simple salad to make that you may use as a lunch or at a cook-out. Years ago, when I was little, an aunt used to come to see us and bring a pasta and tuna salad to bring to the beach (on ice, of course). We would have a picnic and I remember the little shell pasta having tuna tucked inside. I thought that was great and I loved it; soooo cute. After I grew up and got married I continued to make this salad in the summer and still do. And each time it reminds me of the times at the beach and the little pieces of tuna tucked into the shell. I thought that my aunt was so smart thinking of shells to bring to the beach. It really doesn't take much to make a kid happy, huh?

My deli carries a yummy baked potato salad. I asked them what was in it and they told me. I had some leftover baked potatoes that I needed to use so I tried making it and it was a BIG hit at my house. It disappeared before I got it to the dinner !

    Recipe #21304

This recipe, as is, comes from Taste of Home Best Holiday Recipes, 2008. Preparation time does not include the 8 hours need to marinate!

Unfortunately, McDonald's has phased out its Southwest Salad. However, I don't have to live without it thanks to this recipe. This is supposed to be an exact replica of it for you to make at home. Feel free to take it to work in a plastic container and make your co-workers jealous. The points value for Weight Watchers is 7 points. I got this recipe from an email from the Hungry Girl web site. That's what the "HG" stands for! Enjoy! (Note: The source for this recipe cited different nutritional info than here at zaar: 350 calories, 4g fat, 720mg sodium, 39g carbs, 6g fiber, 15g sugars, 43g protein Points value 7* This is for the entire recipe, with dressing). UPDATE 4/1/08: This limited edition, seasonal salad is back! Find the super salad (which is packed with corn, black beans, tortilla strips and more) at McD's NOW thru the summer.

    Recipe #260516

I saw this recipe in a Women's Health magazine, tried it, and absolutely fell in love with it. It's the perfect summer salad - super healthy, not at all heavy and really fills you up. It says that its 4 portions but i think it's actually only 3, especially if you're eating it as a main dish. Try it, i promise you'll love it!

So delicious! Great use for left over chicken.

    Recipe #31694

This is an old favorite of mine from childhood... but nowadays goes great for tea-parties when served on toast wedges or just plain, served stuffed into a tomato for presentation... or my husbands favorite way: sandwich style topped with a few pieces of crisp bacon with a slice of avocado between two pieces of white bread! This is great for using up leftovers from Rotisserie Chicken...

I am really happy she won the Next Food Network Star challenge and really look forward to watching more of her show " Ten Dollar Dinners with Melissa d'Arabian". This is a great recipe that is easy to toss together yet really fresh tasting. Why use bottled dressing when you can do this?

    Recipe #386186

This is a wonderful salsa/dip that we serve at New Year's Eve parties so we can get a head start on "good luck" for the new year. Taste test to determine your own personal degree of hotness. To increase the "heat" add more jalapenos or some minced fresh cilantro.

    Recipe #50168

This is my version of my mother-in-law's famous salad dressing.

    Recipe #312592

Easy quick and a great alternative to everyday Italian dressing. A quick puree with the food processor and dressing is done. Chill in the refrigerator until later and you have an amazing dressing.
