This recipe has been developed from experimenting and tweaking until a great chicken salad was achieved. This chicken salad is OUR FAVORITE! It is good enough to serve for a special occasion/holiday. I hope it becomes your favorite too.

    Recipe #490331

My neighbor made this for her daughter's birthday party over the 4th of July holiday and I would have to say it is the best coleslaw I have ever had! If you don't like blue cheese, you could probably substitute feta cheese!

    Recipe #176215

This is a salad that even non-cabbage eaters love. It is nice and crunchy with great flavor. I once took it to a potluck in my apartment complex and then had to put the recipe up on the bulletin board because everyone wanted the recipe!

    Recipe #50825

Spinach and strawberries what an odd combination for a recipe. That is what I thought before trying this the first time. Now I get many requests to bring this for dinner parties. The raspberry wine vinegar adds a marvelous taste, and compliments the first two ingredients. This salad is very eye pleasing in crystal.

    Recipe #14409

This is my simplified version of my Mom's recipe. Using the canned diced potatoes takes the guess work out of cooking the potatoes.

    Recipe #293226

Fresh peaches and goat cheese headline this simple no-cook salad recipe. The 8-ingredient vinaigrette, made with pantry staples, takes minutes to make and is a delicious compliment to the other ingredients in the salad. Use a store-bought rotisserie chicken to save time in the kitchen. From Cooking Light

Cliped this off the Pepperidge Farm Puff Pastry box years ago. This is a very impressive dish that is easy to make.

    Recipe #374073

This recipe comes from the 2004 cookbook, The Joy of Cranberries: The Tangy Red Treat, that was given to me by my first cookbook swap partner here on Zaar. Preparation time does not include time needed for salad to chill in the refrigerator.

    Recipe #335243

This is a coleslaw that I stole from a junior cook book that was once given to me as a young'in. Please Note: As an alternative, ready-made coleslaw dressings are available in bottles from your local supermarket to make it easy for you.

    Recipe #222514

Yummy and versatile - you can put this together in minutes with bottled salad dressing!

    Recipe #173675

    An original from Bobby Flay.

This is the most delicious coleslaw that you will ever have! I make this for weddings, large socials and in the summer for BBQ's and parties, and there is never anything left it all goes and everyone wants the recipe --- plan ahead the coleslaw needs to be refrigerated for the stated time to blend the flavors, this coleslaw will intensify in flavor with chilling time --- this is not a thick heavy dressing like some other coleslaw recipes it's the perfect texture and flavor and what makes this coleslaw stand out from all others is the fresh lemon juice so please use only fresh I have used bottled in the past and it is just not the same --- the dressing amount will yield enough for two 16-ounce packages prepared coleslaw mix or 1 head of green cabbage --- for one 16-ounce package prepared coleslaw mix use the dressing amounts posted on bottom of recipe and add in 3 or more large of chopped green onions. Recipe #102617

This is an Indonesian salad. I found the recipe in my Extending the Table cookbook, and since I have an explosion of cucumbers in my garden right now, I am trying every possible variation of cucumber salad! :) Chilling time is the cook time.

FANTASTIC! A great side dish for just about any meal. Save this recipe for when your tomatoes in the garden are ripe and luscious! (or if you have a Farmer's Market, get them from there). First made this in 2009, and have used large cherry tomatoes instead of plum tomatoes and they were great too...good tomatoes for this are a MUST! I have also added about 1/2 cup Gruyere cheese along with the 1 cup of parmesan on the top for a real cheesy treat! Any rustic bread will do, but make sure you cut it in the 1/2 inch dice. Also, use fresh Parmesan cheese, it really makes a difference. It's VERY important to get it into the oven as soon as possible, else it may end up a bit soggy. This is adapted from Barefoot Contessa; Episode Farm Stand Food.

Greens topped with strawberries, cucumber, celery, tomatoes, scallions, nuts, cheese, and a sweet tangy poppy seed dressing!

    Recipe #122440

This quick and easy recipe comes from the Renees Dressing that is used in the salad....I've modified it slightly. It is absolutely delicious....sweet and tangy and refreshing...and the colour of it is beautiful. You should prepare it just before serving, which may be it's only setback, but it doesn't take long. I hope you enjoy it!

    Recipe #92201

I love spinach salads, dijon mustard and dried cherries so this was a hit with me from the get go. It's a Martha Stewart recipe and absolutely rocks! You could easily substitute dried cranberries, but the tartness of the cherries are amazing. Enjoy! Note: prep time includes time for toasting pumpkin seeds.

"Marconi's" restaurant opened it's doors in the early 1920's, and had been a staple on the Baltimore restaurant scene until it closed recently. This historic restaurant is truly where I obtained my love of lettuce salads when I was a youngster. I went with my mother and father, downtown (sometimes even during the week!) to enjoy the great American "classic dinner". I always felt like a grown-up ordering my own salad, which was made table side. I absolutely fell in love with the big old woodened, seasoned, salad bowls and large wooden forks to mix up the ingredients. I could eat anyone under the table eating one of these salads, and to this day, this salad is a favorite of mine. Just recently, this inspired "Marconi Chopped Salad" showed up in the "Baltimore Sun" paper by Brucie White who answered a request for this recipe. Although "Marconi's" never officially published this recipe, Mr. White has tried to put together the components that were so inspired for so long in memory of this great establishment. I have added my own twist by some additions, but I wish to credit Mr. White for his contribution. Go ahead, chop some salad, and remember when.............

Refreshing apple salad. Great for family get togethers.

    Recipe #272034

This recipe is from the Busy People's Low-Carb Cookbook by Dawn Hall. I like to do the first part of this early in the day and then toss with the dressing just before serving
