The original version of this now ubiquitous condiment was created at the Hidden Valley Guest Ranch in Santa Barbara in the 1950s. The formula was subsequently purchased by the Clorox company, which uses the Hidden Valley name to this day, but "ranch" has become a generic term not just for a dressing but for a buttermilky flavor (as in ranch-flavored chips). Here's a fresh homemade version.
I love ranch dressing, but it's not available in Israel. They've never even heard about it! I found this somewhere on the Internet about 10 years ago. My veggie daughter loves this on tomatoes. I like it on potato latkes, of all things.
This is the salad dressing I grew up with that my mom created. As a child, I didn't realize there were any alternatives. To this day, my mom's salad dressing is still a favorite. Very simple to prepare. If you make it a little ahead of time, it will allow the flavors to blend. I hope you enjoy it!
My 13-going-on-35 year old son tasted this at a friend's house and actually ASKED me to make salad!! Can you imagine?? Me either. I immediately called the friend's mom and got this recipe. Hope it gets your teens to eat salad too.
This is quick and easy to make for that last minute "have to take something" and always gets wiped out. I have a really hard time keeping my family out of it long enough to cover it and put it in the refrigerator. We like to save the drained juices for a refreshing beverage.
After having something similar in a restaurant, I just had to start making these at home. Now I'm addicted! When they are in season, I substitute fresh blueberries and/or strawberries for the dried cranberries. Also delicious!
My mother and grandmother both used this recipe every spring and summer as the lettuce started to produce in the garden. It is quick and simple with only a few ingredients, yet served with just fresh leaf lettuce and spring onions, so good! You might have to adjust the ingredients depending on what you like better, sweet or tart.
I just got back from a trip to London today and we went into this cafe we were
recommended called Pret-A-Manger, we were recommended this particular "sandwich".
I fell in love with it. I noticed as I was about to throw away the bag that the
recipe was on it, so I decided to share with you what I enjoyed so much. All of
their products are organic, hand picked and fresh every day. This is one version
of the sandwiches.
