    From Australian BH&G Diabetic Living to give that boring salad some zing and flavour. These are all 1 portion dressings and would take about 2 minutes each (have put prep time for making 1)

    I have never been satisfied with store bought or ranch dressing recipes. This one is thick, fresh tasting and doesn't have that "mayonnaise" flavor. Tastes very similar to that dressing from that famed "aussie" steak restaurant if you add paprika and cayenne to it.     A tangy dressing that you only need to use a tiny bit of because it's richly flavored. It's fat free and wonderful! If you must, then you can drizzle a little olive oil into your salad after tossing it with this dressing but, honestly, it doesn't need it to make a delicious salad!     Have had this recipe for quite a while. Just recently it was served (by a caterer) at a luncheon I was at. They also added chinese noodles which gave it a wonderful crunch. I think that I will try it with candied pecans the next time I make it.

    This is a great ranch dressing mix, which is lower in sodium and without the preservatives found in the commercial brands. This dressing mix not only makes a good salad dressing and dip, it is also good as a sauce on cooked vegetables, baked potatoes, fish, poultry and meat. This recipe makes 1/2 cup of the dry mix, or enough to make 8 cups of the finished dressing. You can make the dry mix up in larger quantities and package it in small decorative jars just large enough to hold one recipe for holiday gifts. When wrapping the jars of the mix, you could include a copy of the recipe and the ingredients for making more of the dry mix. This way if the recipient likes the dressing, they can make more of it for themselves and share it with even more friends. Recipe is from Cook It Light.
