This is a popular lunch dish at a local hole-in-the-wall! You sit on the wooden balcony, see the ocean through the dunes, smell the briny air, and just relax with a glass or two of chilled white wine ...

    Recipe #262687

This is a very quick, very versatile sauce or dressing, and it's absolutely great! If you don't mind a small taste of something really rich and really useful, this is for you. It can be a sauce for steamed veggies, a dressing for the hollows of pear halves as a starter, or cold as an over-the-top salad dressing! Also great to use as a pasta sauce. Because mayonnaises differ, and blue cheeses are not created the same, your sauce might taste slightly different from mine. For the photo's I used Hellmann's mayo, which is all I have at hand, but a slightly more tangy mayonnaise might be better. I used a local artisanal blue cheese, and a thick sour cream. Or use creme fraiche and add a squeeze of lemon. I used a teaspoon of smoked garlic paste which I need to use up, instead of fresh garlic. The sauce, covered, will last for days in the fridge.

I first tried a salad like this in a restaurant. I think my homemade version is much better. Hat's off to Luby for the outstanding recipe for Blue Cheese Dressing which is the only one I will eat now. I copied the recipe verbatim, and included all steps in making the dressing straight from Luby's recipe, #55514. This is my favorite salad in the summertime, reminds me of a BLT without the bread.

    Recipe #115216

A tasty and beautiful salad. You may choose to substitute the walnuts with almonds - just as good!

    Recipe #59829

I've never actually had this dressing at the restaurant, but my husband has and HE says it tastes very close. The only thing I think I would change is to put the chopped cilantro in AFTER you put this into the blender. This is my version of a copy cat, but I don't know, because I've never had it. Let me know if you think it is close. I came up with this recipe because my husband does not like the cilantro ranch dressing.

I came up with this salad recipe for Father's Day, and it was a huge hit. I strongly recommend recipe #154351 and recipe #323254 in this!! (I used both walnuts and pecans when making the candied nuts.) It's really pretty if you can get yellow pear tomatoes and use a red pepper, or vise versa.

I LOVE a good Blue Cheese Salad Dressing. Unfortunately, I have yet to find a good one in the stores. I dug out all my cookbooks, combined this and that and here is the final result.

    Recipe #55514

I tore this out of a magazine, though can't remember which. I make this as a side to my "Anything Goes Calzone" (#310100). A good balsamic really makes this recipe outstanding.

    Recipe #383192

This salad is perfect. AND the curried cashews make outstanding appetizers, garnishes, snacks or gifts; the honey-sesame dressing can be used on any number of salads. The contrast of colors, flavors and textures is inspired. Tom Douglas is chef and owner of 4 Seattle eateries and this salad has been on his menu.

This is a great salad with antipasta ingredients. Feel free to add your favorite Italian antipasta ingredients. The options are endless, but the result is fabulous!

    Recipe #172589

This is a light, high protein, heart healthy, hearty salad that can be fixed anytime. There are many bold flavors, textures, and aromas associated with this salad that make it as pleasing to the senses as it is to the palate.

    Recipe #303812

Although an unusual combination this really is a very delicious salad. I got the recipe from a Junior League cookbook, called Bay Tables, put out by the Junior League of Mobile, Ala. The dressing is very pretty and tastes wonderful!

    Recipe #84162

This salad lends itself to many variations- try using spinach, or adding almonds or candied walnuts, maybe even a little goat cheese. A Rachael Ray recipe.

    Recipe #299799

This dressing goes with my recipe #211266 You may double this recipe if desired. Plan ahead this needs to chill for a minimum of 2 hours before using. This is very good!

    Recipe #154351

Every time I eat at CPK, I have to have this salad! I love the tangy dressing, the fresh basil, the crispness of the ingredients. My husband got their cookbook for Christmas one year and I enjoy making it at home occasionally too!

    Recipe #112979

A simple but elegant bleu cheese dressing. Great on a green salad or heirloom tomato slices. Try serving along side raw veggies or atop a grilled rib-eye steak!

I needed to come up with a salad dressing tonight and this is what I came up with! This is close to a Caesar Salad dressing, but without the egg and anchovies. It was perfect with a chopped up head of romaine. Feel free to top this with croutons and shredded parmesan. Enjoy!

    Recipe #371267

This is a version of a recipe printed right on a salad dressing mixing jar- I believe it is a Pampered Chef product.
