Great egg salad with a little something extra. Delicious for regular sandwiches and also finger sandwiches, or on large sturdy crackers (like the Swedish rye crisps). This recipe would be delicious using a great Southern U.S. ham.

Use this to season and flavor ingredients to liven up any recipe. The oil can last indefinitely refrigerated. Original from the Cuisine of California

    Recipe #222752

I originally clipped this recipe from a Woman's Day magazine years ago. It is very soothing and comforting - just the thing on a chilly, drizzly day. If you don't care for creamed corn, you may use 1 1/2 cups corn kernels instead. You may choose to peel your potatoes,if you prefer, however I do not. I have tried this with several different types of potatoes and you want something that will soften up enough in the soup; red skinned potatoes work nicely. I have tried Yukon Golds in this and they just don't soften up soon enough, so I would say precook them before adding to the soup if that is your potato of choice.

As a New Englander I can tell you this is the best Clam Chowder around! It's from The Vanilla Bean Cafe in Pomfret, Connecticut. This is the original recipe. In addition to the onion & celery I sometimes like to add 1/2 cup shredded carrots.

I made this up one day when I wanted some old-fashioned tasting chicken soup without all the bother and I love it.

I just won "First Place" at a country fair with this recipe. The fresh tomatoes and chili peppers give it a fresh and pleasant taste.

I have just divulged my own county's, my grandmother's, and my mother's most coveted soup recipe. (Lord, help me!) My most wonderful food memories stem from this soup. When I was a little girl, family and friends would gather at my parents house, bringing proportionately larger amounts of the listed ingredients (alas, usually fresh ingredients). Everyone would gather outside around the old iron washpot over a wood fire and prepare this stew with the ingredients they had brought. My mom and dad cooked the stew for hours as everyone visited. The results? Simply perfection. Nothing has ever tasted better to me on a cold Winter day.

Smooth, creamy, and OMG so good! This recipe comes from Brattens which used to be located in Salt Lake City, Utah, years ago. It's been gone for years, but this clam chowder lives on. What a legacy! The restaurant gave me the recipe back in the middle 60's.

This is SO simple, either crock pot or stovetop! A friend of mine served this a few weeks ago on a very cold Sunday and I've made it three times since! Spice it up or tone it down as you like. I like spicy foods so I add a lot of Tabasco? to my bowl! Some people like to add okra as well for the real gumbo look...I hope you enjoy this!

    Recipe #15060

This recipe is from a Weight Watchers meeting. It is so quick -- I ate it daily when I was on maternity leave with my second son. If I am making it for the week, I just empty the cans into a plastic container and warm up 1 serving in the microwave. I have also made it using frozen corn and mixed vegetables. Those who enjoy this may also be interested in #57009 - "5 cans and a jar".

Don't let the sparse ingredient list fool you. This is a recipe that's so easy to make yet so delicious that everyone inhales it. My mother was raised on this soup and she served it often to us. My grown daughters now demand it when they are home. To this day, entering the house on a cold day and smelling this soup is the most comforting, delicious aroma imaginable. It's also non-fat if you use skim milk. (But I like half-and-half, myself!)

My mom's favorite dish ever! You may want to add more lettuce, but my mother is more about the "extras" then the greens. These are extra good topped with Recipe #222159! Also for chicken I use Recipe #217675 a lot.

I love the pinkish red sweet and sour sauce that is served in Chinese restaurants...I have tried dozens of recipes and been disappointed so I made this one by trial and error...this is the closest I have come to getting that flavor.

    Recipe #15996

This was a recipe found in Quick Cooking Magazine posted by Linda Jo Wahlgren. This is a great picnic take-along.

Checked all the Gazpacho Salads posted here and didn't find one made like this. Love gazpacho in the summer time and this salad makes a full satisfying entree. The cook time is the chilling time.

This is still another recipe from the just vegetables website. One of the best I have ever tasted. Never missed the pineapple!

A slightly sweet dressing with the crunchiness of sugared almonds makes this an outstanding salad! Recipe is requested every time it is served. Found recipe in Woman's Day magazine in 1995.

    Recipe #40516

A selection of my four favourite "cheesy" flavoured butters..... Cheddar & Garlic Butter, Camembert Butter, Roquefort Butter and Stilton & Green Peppercorn Butter. These can be prepared well ahead of time and stored in the fridge or the freezer. I then cut off rounds or slices, as and when I need them. My favourite uses for these wonderful cheese butters are as toppings for steaks, grilled fish and vegetables. They are also wonderful spread and melted on ciabatta, a baguette or good artisinal bread - a meal in themselves!! I have also popped a slice or two into pasta dishes or white and any savoury sauces, for that extra cheesy zing!
