    Recipe #59668

A new twist on an old favorite just for RSC#8! The secret is the fresh grated ginger... ;)

    Recipe #161335

I am making this delish dessert for Thanksgiving. I saw it on MSNBC this past Saturday, and never want to lose the recipe, so I'm posting it here giving credit to those who own the recipe. The recipe does not give suggestions how to display the dessert. They displayed it as a round decorated cake, so be creative. I will use the rectangle pan as they suggest since it is my first time to do this recipe, however I am going to make a whipped cream to decorate the top and sprinkle with chocolate shavings. The family from Fresco restaurant in New York serves up a holiday meal with some tasty rice dishes. Check out this recipe. The Scottos 12 servings

Milk Rice (Milchreis) is a very traditional German Dessert. As I child I love it. And I still love it. But very often is made more like a pudding and the texture of the rice is almost lost. "My Way" milk rice is based on Risotto Rice of high quality, because the rice makes this dessert. I suggest to use "Carnaroli" rice for this dessert. But you should always use rice which is suited for making a Risotto (e.g. Arborio). The dessert is not overly sweet, but everyone can add more sweetness by sprinkling more of sugar on the served dessert. You can also adapt the consistency to your need. If you like it more soupy add a bit more milk or a little cream, if you like a rich and silk dessert. But sure this dessert is not only a kid pleaser it is a dessert which everyone will love. Serve it with a glass of milk, hot chocolate or a strong coffee. I love it not overly sweet. The flavours of the lemon peel and vanilla made this a very delicate dessert. The cinnamon added at last add some more spicy notes to it. The butter (or cream, if you added some) make it smooth and silky.

Comforting rice custard is a nice dessert anytime.

    Recipe #63264

Italian-style or Arborio rice is the best to use for this recipe, it will produce the creamiest texture. This is best if eaten warm! Prep time does not include cooking the rice.

This is posted for the World Tour 2005 RecipeZaar event. I haven't tried this particular recipe from Senegal yet, but I've often eaten something very similar for breakfast, although here it is a dessert. It's from The Africa Cookbook - Tastes of a Continent by Jessica B. Harris.

A great way to use up leftover rice from the Chinese restaurant.

    Recipe #174319

This arroz con leche recipe comes from a calender cookbook called Mexico, The Beautiful Cookbook. My Mother-in-law was about to throw it out and I found this wonderful rice pudding recipe in it. It is by far the best I have ever tasted. I omit the the lime and orange peel but I am sure it's probably great with it. uuum, uuum good. *I have made no changes to the recipe but want to make a note that many Food.com users state a frustration with the stirring time so feel free to turn the heat up a little but I posted the recipe exactly as it was on the calendar. I apologize to anyone that has been frustrated. The end result is always wonderful though : ) THANKS for all the wonderful reviews, it is very much appreciated. Enjoy!!!

I think that I've come up with a GREAT rice pudding recipe. Anyone who has tasted my Rice Pudding says so anyway.

    Recipe #3570

I added in dried sweet cherries in place of the raisins, it is simply outstanding! Remember if you are using dried cherries, make certain to purchase the sweet dried cherries, not the tart kind! Just a hint, wash your rice with cold water under a strainer before using!

This is the best rice pudding I've ever tasted. I found it on a British food website, sorry can't remember exactly where. Number of servings is a guesstimate, I find it is difficult to stop eating once you've had a taste . . .
