This is my foolproof way of getting perfect "every grain separate" rice, every time!

    Recipe #39269

I saw Ina make this on her food network television show, the episode was entitled "Weekend Lunch."

This basic recipe was printed in Saveur magazine. It works well for any brown rice - short, medium or long-grain brown rice. Disregard the directions on your package. Most likely it will come out mushy. In this recipe, the boiling (uncovered) cooks it thoroughly, and the steaming at the end make it light and fluffy.

DH wanted spanish rice one night so I made the following recipe that I got from Betty Crocker. OMG, it was just like eating my mom's. I forgot how good her spanish rice was!!! Try it, you won't be disappointed!!! Serve as a meal in its self or as a side dish.

This dish is fantastic! I use recipe#186029 for this!

    Recipe #152222

Tired of being let down by take-out, I begged this recipe off a coworker's mom who owned a Chinese restaurant, and I have yet to find one that tops it.

    Recipe #220426

This recipe comes from Alton Brown and it's the only way we have rice anymore. My servings are quite a bit smaller than his, though! You can use chicken or veggie broth in place of the water, or add herbs and spices.

    Recipe #177017

I found this recipe in Organic Gardening magazine when my children were babies. It truly does make absolutely perfect brown rice every time! Never gummy. You can easily substitute it in recipes calling for rice without your family noticing (well, unless they dissect everything with a magnifying glass like my son likes to do)! *Please note: THIS IS JUST A RECIPE FOR BASIC RICE! It will NOT be fabulous alone! Use it for any recipe calling for cooked rice/ or spiff it up with the addition of garlic, onion, herbs, broth sub for water, etc. etc. It WILL be bland if served as is!

A friend makes these and they are delicious!! Wonderful appetizer from Company's Coming, Cooking for Diabetics. Chill time is cook time. Diabetic choices: 1/2 starch = 1 - 1 1/2 square

    Recipe #46014

This is my dad's recipe straight from the N.O. He adapted it to my busy lifestyle. I only cook with organic foods but if you dont have access to them or dont want to pay the extra money this recipe will still be phenomenal! Add as much cayenne as you like, I prefer mine on the milder side.

    Recipe #282574

Another south of the border favorite side dish to serve with your next mexican fiesta.

    Recipe #28755

Serve with grill salmon and pineapple salsa

    Recipe #215057

This is absolutely the BEST rice pudding I've ever found. VERY custardy and creamy at the same time.

I don't remember where I found this, but it's a staple around our house now. It's chewy, kind of nutty, and very filling. It's also very easy (as long as I think about it at least an hour before I need it!) It's an easy side dish as is, upgrades easily to a pilaf (see directions below), works well under meats and sauces, leftovers go great in soup, and it is even good with a little sugar, cinnamon, and cream over it for breakfast or dessert! So many possibilities with so few ingredients. ;o)

    Recipe #78131

This is one of my favorite recipes of any kind. It's tasty, healthy, easy, quick, and I'm happy eating it for days on end. It's based on a Goya recipe that I adapted to use brown rice for better nutritional value. If you want to eat more whole grains but just can't find appetizing ways to prepare them, give this a try. It can also be made with long-grain white rice if you prefer (not jasmine rice or anything like that, just the ordinary kind). The canned pigeon peas and sazon can both be found in the latino/hispanic/international section of most US supermarkets.

My husband came up with this quick, healthy and tasty one dish dinner. I can't handle spicy foods, so we have tuned down the cajun seasonings, but feel free to add more if you like. You can also use beef or pork kielbasa if you prefer.

    Recipe #205493

One of my childhood favorites, had it quite often. Traditionally they do add the olives and sometimes even capers..but I don't like them.

    Recipe #288386

This dish is served during Fiesta over my Grandma’s Barrio.

    Recipe #42985

Pilau (pih-LOW) is a coastal South Carolina dish that consists of long-grain rice and usually some sort of meat or seafood.

    Recipe #92521

An easy and quick side dish for just about any meat entree'.
