This Bacardi rum cake is lovely and moist. I usually make it around New Years, makes a nice looking dessert for a buffet and the taste is rich and wonderful. From a magazine add, many years ago.

    Recipe #14499

This recipe came about after a failed casserole recipe turned into an amazing soup! Who says failure is a bad thing? You could even make this vegetarian/vegan by changing the meat to a veg friendly option and using a veg broth. Hope you enjoy this too!

    Recipe #356366

My dd just loves Tequila Rose so I thought I would look for a way to make it at home so I could make it lighter. Viola! Of course, you can make it with the full fat versions too! This is so pretty and would be GREAT for bridal showers, bachelorette parties, gifts or just for yourself! Hope you like it too!

Cactus is a common and tasty food item in Mexico and parts of SW USA. Cactus, or NOPALES as they are known in Texas and Mexico, can be found fresh and needle free in the produce section. You can even find jars of Nopales or Nopalitos (little (pieces of) Nopales) in the ethnic aisle of your grocery store. If you choose to use those please drain them and rinse them well. Green Beans or chayote can be substituted if cactus is not available. The nutritional info here is not correct as the olive oil is used for coating the items you are grilling and in the dressing. Not all of it is consumed. This recipe is from La Comida Del Barrio (meaning Foods from the neighborhood) Latin American Cooking in the U.S., by Aaron Sanchez (Clarkson Potter, 2003) This dish would be wonderful with any Mexican cerveza (beer) or with a crisp and fruity Sauvignon Blanc.

The chromium and vanadium rich prickly pears help to keep your appetite suppressed while the potassium and minerals keep electrolytes balanced. Perfect way to enjoy drinking water and diet in a healthy way!

    Recipe #334311

In honor of the November Beverage Forum Spotlight!

    Recipe #334482

SoCo, Amaretto and Grand Marnier! OH MY! These are good. Go ask Alice! lol

    Recipe #335816

Yummy! Champagne and Pama Pomegranate liqueur!

    Recipe #338637

Another Southern Comfort and Amaretto treat! For an extra treat chill these first! You could also top this with whipped cream if you like!

    Recipe #340670

    SoCo and Bailey's oh my!

    Recipe #340753

Another drink made with my favorite, Southern Comfort!

    Recipe #340836

Great holiday treat! I reduced the amount of Southern Comfort by half from the amount originally posted to make it smoother and less strong. If you want it stronger, please measure 3 to 1 eggnog to Southern Comfort. Happy Holidays!

    Recipe #340839

    Funny name. Serious drink!

    Recipe #341088

This is a great recession meal. Very inexpensive yet HEALTHY and filling! You just do not find that very often. So many recipes that are quick and easy... one pan wonders... etc.. are high in fat and calories and lack much nutrition. I like to hide more veggies in here too! Think carrots, celery, etc,, grated, diced, chopped whatever. If you like spicy foods try Hot & Spicy V8 here and you can even add some cayenne if you like. There is just something we like about spicy mixed with sweet- so the hint of sweetness in the sauce is fantastic. At my house, whoever finds the bay leaf is the lucky one! Just do not eat it Hope you enjoy this comforting casserole!

Like Hungry Girl says "2008 was the year of the 100 calorie everything. So why not a cocktail?" I for one, like many, made the resolution to lose weight this year! Maybe this will be the year! Note: If you want to try this with flavors other than fruit you may want to skip the lime juice. I tried this with Hazelnut syrup and no lime juice and it was very nice. My favorite though is Cherry syrup with the lime juice! Enjoy!

    Recipe #348069

DD and I made this one up! It goes down soooo easy!

    Recipe #350792

Seems like I am always dieting - perpetually! This drink is "Lighter' and lower in calories so I can still enjoy in moderation, of course! Hope you enjoy it too!

    Recipe #353632

This is a very sweet wine that is so very popular here. To me it tastes like communion wine or Mogan David! We grow blackberries so we always have a bunch to make the juice. Just mash them up and strain! Of course you could probably buy it at the store too! Cooking time does not reflect time for aging and fermenting. Posting for my dd!

    Recipe #320512

Cuba meets NYC in this take on the classic Manhattan. A wonderful gold rum from Nicaragua, Flor de Caña, is used here rather than bourbon but I am sure any good gold rum could be used. This is wonderful for people who prefer a drier cocktail. I prefer this on the rocks but you can definitely serve it neat. Adjust the vermouth to your taste. Some prefer more while some prefer it as Winston Churchill did, across the room to be glanced at briefly. lol

    Recipe #320655

Why settle for a Dirty Martini when you could go 'filthy'??? lol
