This is the best chili recipe I have ever tried. I'm not sure where the recipe originated, but it is amazing! Sometimes, I don't bother adding all four cans of the kidney beans and it still turns out wonderful. Once anyone tastes this chili, they will be begging for the recipe!! Enjoy!
These potatoes are a staple in our home. Whether accompanying roast lamb or chicken, or just on their own, we have them a couple of times a week. They are delicious and the ones that get overly-brown in the pan and stick a bit are MINE! Clean up is a little tricky with this recipe, unless you line your pans with foil, but I find that just filling the pan up with hot, sudsy water and forgetting for an hour (something I apparently have no problem doing ;-)) helps a lot.
Why compromise the banana flavor? My banana bread is moist and delicious with loads of banana flavor! Ultimate comfort food, and it's WONDERFUL TOASTED!! (Make sure to use bananas with a lot of black on them for the best flavor! The blacker the bananas, the stronger the banana flavor of the bread.)
Per Google.com, the #1 recipe for Beer Bread in the world! There are a few recipes for beer bread out there, but none as simple (and tasty!) as this one. You can even mix it in the baking pan for easy cleanup. This is sensational when served with soups or just as a snack, but don't expect it to be around very long when your family gets a taste of it! Be sure to use a sheet pan on the shelf below the pan to catch any excess butter that may drip during cooking.
Everytime I make this for a social event, I end up writing the recipe down for at least 6 people! This is soooo fantastic and easy!! I ripped it out of a Carolina Country magazine about a year ago and have made it a zillion times!
This is a fabulous recipe for oven fried tilapia slightly adapted from Paul Prudhomme's wonderful "Fork In The Road" lower fat cookbook. I served this for dinner with family and it got rave reviews. Even my picky 5 year old eater enjoyed it. The ingredient list here is long, but is mostly spices. Please don't be put off, this is wonderful stuff and once you get the spice mixture combined, quite easy to make.
A creamy, delicious, simple recipe for peanut-butter cookies! These cookies are my favorite cookies! They are delicious!
(I found it in an old recipe book my mother had. Smudges of flour had rubbed off the name!)
These are the most delicious biscuits I've ever tasted! They just melt in your mouth. Great on their own or with sausage gravy, these biscuits are sure to impress. This recipe comes from Shirley Corriher's "Cookwise".. a terrific cookbook! She's the food scientist on "Good Eats" with Alton Brown. I think that this is her grandma's recipe. Be sure to follow this recipe exactly.. There is a method to the madness!! Enjoy!!
One of my reviewers complained that she couldn't work the dough. So I updated the directions to be more explicit. This dough cannot be "worked" like traditional biscuit dough would.. the excessive moisture creates a steam inside the dough as it bakes creating an out-of-this-world treat! So just forget everything you know about making biscuits and have faith in the recipe... it really is worth the effort.
This is a French Toast recipe that my family has been enjoying for quite some time. It's a fun recipe to be enjoyed especially on a weekend morn. It's considered a special treat when I make these because they are delicious!
This will also work great with turkey; if you do not have chicken breasts, then use any leftover cooked chicken. If desired you can fill the crescents just with the filling mixture and omit the soup, just brush with butter before baking. They are wonderful just stuffed with the filling! A few members have experienced a soggy bottom, so you might want to consider just drizzling half (or even a little less) of the soup mixture on top and a little around the sides of the crescents, then save the rest of the soup mixture for another time (this will help prevent a soggy bottom). You may use the jumbo crescent rolls and stuff with more chicken mixture :)
