Recipes Made During Zaar World Tour II

Recipes from many participants in ZWT2 ~ These were made by me and enjoyed by my family as I virtually toured the world from my kitchen as a member of Team KitchenExpeditions® during Summer 2006.

Creamy garlic-alfredo sauce topped with spinach, grilled chicken, artichoke hearts, and sundried tomatoes, this scrumptious pizza was specially developed in honor of team KitchenExpeditions® and Zaar World Tour II. The recipe yields a 13" pizza or 8 generous slices and can be made vegetarian by simply omitting the grilled chicken. Enjoy!

    Recipe #175879

This is the most awesome pork tenderlion ever!! It is from Bon Appetit and is a very poplular "internet recipe"...(I can't believe no one has posted it here yet!) Posting this for ZWT II, Jamaica! The whole recipe includes the pork and salad, which is a lovely salad, but after making it the first time, I usually just make the pork and skip the salad.

    Recipe #174041

There is so much butter in these to keep at least 10 huskies warm while sleeping in the snow. That must be the reason for the name! I made this for my easter dinner, I've had the recipe wedged in my recipe file since 1986! It was from a Seattle Times food writer, John Owens. He always had great recipes. After dinner this evening I was saying how much butter I could cut out of this recipe and my children enclosed me in their arms and said, "Mom, DO NOT change this recipe!!" So, okay, it's a heart attack waiting to happen, but heck, this is something I would serve once a year just to see these people make yummy arm gestures. You can change it if you want...but don't and just wallow in this amount of butter! My goodness! If not cooking for a crowd, halve this recipe and cook 30 minutes.

Another recipe from DM's grey book...this was taken from our local paper The Sacramento Bee. We have made this up on quite a few cold nights for a meal and mmmmm mmmmm mmmm it is sooooo good.

    Recipe #165386

Delicious chocolate crepes with cherry filling make a lovely, romantic dessert that would be perfect for Valentine's Day. They could also be served as part of an elegant breakfast-in-bed or brunch. Enjoy!

    Recipe #170549

We had this at Hope Lodge. High school teachers brought this in; they were really sweet. This salad is great.

    Recipe #124074

A treat from Southern Living........yum! For Zaar World Tour purposes, please classify as MidAtlantic for the Hershey syrup. Thanks!

    Recipe #154368

These cookies are known for their delicate texture and flavor and can be found on VeryBestBaking.com's website drizzled with chocolate for extra pizzazz. They are also included in the Zaar World Tour 2005 swap, Mexico.

Delicious served as an appetizer, with soup, salad, or pasta dishes. Use the best rustic bakery bread you can find. If you love Blue Cheese, I think you'll really enjoy this.

    Recipe #171649

Another gem adapted from the National Chicken Council, this recipe uses spices and flavors of the topical Caribbean to liven up the humble (and often bland) chicken breasts. As warm weather approaches in the northern hemisphere, this will be a hit at the family BBQ.

    Recipe #168809

Submitted for Zaar World Tour 2006, a real veggie delight:D Very tomato-ey and colorful. If you prefer to make your own dough, we suggest Steve's recipe no. 8497 or littleturtle's recipe no. 112643:D

    Recipe #177149

This pizza dough is so easy because your bread machine does all of the hard work. Preparation time is approximate as dough cycle times vary with different bread machines.

You won't be sorry if you try this great coleslaw variation from FoodNation w/Bobby Flay courtesy of the Pillars Restaurant. I usually give new recipes a "trial run", but served this the 1st time at a dinner party because I wanted something that would be better made a day ahead. The original recipe served 30, but I amended it slightly & reduced the quantities to be more family & small dinner party friendly. I added the blue cheese just before serving & everyone loved it!

    Recipe #166022

This is most definately my FAVORITE pasta salad in the world! I have been making it for years, but never wrote it down....well...thanks to Recipezaar I'm learning to "measure", LOL!!!! Very happy to share! This recipe is for a small crowd. If making just for your family, omit the rotini, and add only as much of the rest of the ingredients (about half) that you'd like. Don't worry, it's really simple and easy!

    Recipe #126611

Try this seasoning instead of using the packets of taco seasoning. Makes a great gift too! This not only saves you money it tastes better too! You control the amounts- feel free to adjust to fit your taste. If you like it hotter you can add some cayenne or up the chili powder! Enjoy!

A richer creamier drink to the Almond Joy Dark

    Recipe #57886

Grilled chicken, mushrooms, red bell pepper, artichoke hearts, tomatoes, black olives and cheese-filled tortellini in a rich, creamy pesto-alfredo sauce!

    Recipe #163089

I have experimented with many ingredient amounts for pesto, I have finely found the one that has a perfect balance of flavor --- this will keep covered in the refrigerator for up to 5 days, if you are storing it in the refrigerator I suggest to place a 1/2-inch layer of oil on top of the pesto and cover with a lid or you may freeze --- the success of this recipe will depend on the quality of Parmesan cheese that you use, if possible try to use a good quality freshly grated cheese it really will make a difference with the taste of the pesto, and please use only kosher salt --- FOR RED PESTO; reduce the basil to 3 cups, and add 1/2 cup chopped oil-packed sun-dried tomatoes to the blender along with other ingredients.

    Recipe #144195

Delicious moist cake that can be for breakfast, brunch, or desert. Rich and sweet with a fruity flavor. Great with a good cup of coffee!

Rich and Creamy with a Kick of Kahlua or Bailey's Liquor
