Figs, dates, pomegranates and grapes were the only fruits that could be grown in the hot climate. From: Ancient Egyptian Food and Drink. This recipe was from 1600BC and was found on an ostraca. *NOTE* There are no times given but I'm thinking it would go pretty quickly with the food processor.

Recipe #229292

Light and fluffy combination of pound cake, chocolate and rich cappuccino. Great dessert, not too chocolatey.

Replace the traditional biscuit topping with phyllo dough for a quick and light dessert.

This is a take on peach dump cake made with a cake mix. This recipe uses Recipe #121352 and is perfect for a couple or small family.

Recipe #125391

I swiped this recipe from my Cooking for 2 magazine. It's easy and quick and doesn't give you a ton of leftovers to put in the fridge and not eat again. Sometimes, when I have guests, I buy special bread for brekkie dishes and always have a few slices left. It's a great way to use up the leftover slices.

Recipe #191495

This is a great low-sugar, low-fat dessert designed for 2. It is easily adapted using a variety of dried fruit; i.e., blueberries, chopped apricots, dried apples, and/or pecans or walnuts. Let your imagination lead you.

Microwave cake for one - like those small warm delights in the grocery store. The easiest since it uses cake mix.

Recipe #364130

Since there are only two of us to feed now, I was looking to cut back on cooking on so much food. I found this dessert in a TOH "Country Cooking” cookbook, submitted by Helene Belanger of Denver Colorado. This is a very "light chocolate tasting" cake. Submitted on May 18th 2006

Recipe #168578

You'll be asking 'why didn't I think of that?'

Recipe #261920

This is how my mom has made this dish for us. Posting for my family. Very good, down home comfort food at its finest. These are great with pork chops, chicken, country fried steak or even mush!

Recipe #352282

My mother used to make these when I was a kid. I still love them as an adult, but don't want to be tempted to eat an entire batch. So I came up with this recipe - perfect when you want just a little something sweet, but not too much.

Recipe #220346

This is amazingly good! It's perfect for a special occasion (like Valentine's Day) or when you just have to have something sweet and yummy in a hurry. There's no baking or complicated stuff so you can literally put this on the table within a few minutes. I top mine with strawberry topping but you can use any flavor you like. It can be made with sugar, splenda or even stevia. You can used regular or reduced fat cream cheese. I use reduced and splenda. It will actually serve up to 4 adults if you really want to share it.

Recipe #354705

Another recipe from my great search of recipes for 2. This recipe makes 12 large or 18 medium cookies. Just the right portion size for us "empty nesters"

Recipe #101089

Based on Debby Maugans Nakos's Southern Pecan Pie in her Small-Batch Baking book. She gave directions for making a spiked whipped cream, but this pie is so rich and wonderful as it is, I can't imagine it needing a topping. The pecan halves can be found easily and inexpensively in the baking section of your grocery store in 1/2 cup bags. I'm giving the author's option of using bourbon in the pie, but I did not use it myself. Debby recommends Southern Comfort for the pie, but if you use another bourbon, she suggests you might want to add another tablespoon of sugar. For the pie crust recipe/information, please see Pie Crusts for 2, I have also posted.

Recipe #413378

Yummy! You can use creamy or chunky peanut butter. Depending on your peanut butter you may need more or less water and honey. Some PB is thicker and sweeter.

Recipe #181431

From taste of home cooking for two. Makes 1 smallish cake.

Recipe #428551

A small batch dessert recipe from somewhere in my old recipe files.
