La Kama is a Moroccan spice mixture. It is altogether simpler than the complex ras el hanout and features a modest five spices. Use it to flavour soups and stews or as a rub with chicken or lamb.

I found this on a Tunisian website where Paula Wolfert was credited with the recipe. It's different from all the others on the site. I also edited out the caraway since I don't like the stuff. Cooking time includes the 30 minutes soaking time. Enjoy!

Found at Recipesource.com, this looks amazing! Recommended sides are Lemon Glazed Carrots & Red Lettuce Salad w/Spiced Almonds & Green Olives

    Recipe #504550

A Paula Wolfert recipe. The melange of dill and fennel, celery leaves, red pepper flakes, and spices makes for a light and delicious couscous. Since this type of couscous tends to be slightly dry, you may want to serve it with glasses of buttermilk, the traditional way. I adapted the recipe to make without a couscousier.

Well.... it is my humble opinion that the baked french toast recipes that sit overnight are soggy & mushy. So I tried this. Then added some stuff. And crossed my fingers. The topping idea I hijacked from another recipe online then adjusted to my personal taste. I do hope you enjoy; my family swooned so I came running here to post. ;) I think you could add any dried fruit or even fresh fruit - apples, pears, bananas - cut up into bite sized pieces. I think adding orange zest to the topping might be yummy, too. Go ahead...make it your own!

I found reference to this recipe at a Budapest Tourist Guide. There it was called 'Mashed potatoes with mustard seeds and deep fried onion'. I couldn't find a recipe but I did sort of find the components at various websites then I combined them & reworked it a bit. The onions need to be very soft & caramelized. This looks like a bowl of sweet potatoes with all that paprika! I would love some feedback!

In looking at mole recipes, there is always some part that I would change. So, I did some research, read loads of recipes, picked out the parts (ingredients & measurements) that I like best & created my own recipe! I found some shortcuts; the ingredient list is still typically long but there's nothing difficult to find . It's YUMMY, imho. ;) It's nice & spicy & there's heat but it won't blow the back of your head off. Lovely texture. Great depth of flavor. It's also easy & doesn't take very long!

Mad craving that came out insanely tasty. Ingredients are approximate because I didn't measure much which is why most things say 'to taste,' lol. I didn't include cooking or cooling time for the rice. Cooking time will depend on your method of cooking & cooling will depend as well. I set mine in my cool basement for 1/2 hour or so. I say 8-10 servings because my family of 4 each had 2nds. But each serving was probably 1c or more. ;)

I searched extensively for this but never found one quite like this. My Italian mother in law made this simple, simple salad that is sooo delicious. It's key to let it sit for awhile at room temperature. This is easily multiplied. I put 30 minute cooking time which is the minimum sitting time but can be made ahead. Just please don't refrigerate - it makes the texture of the tomatoes funky.

A variation of this came to me by way of IVillage. This salad is good when served with cooked new potatoes, barbecue dishes, as a spread or filling in sandwiches or simply as a topping on canapé.

I took a bag of lima beans & a recipe from Mark Bittman's 'How to Cook Everything Vegetarian', used 3 different suggested variations then did my own tweaking to arrive at this. I went with a Middle Eastern twist. It is very lemony, thyme-y, creamy from the beans & olive oil, a bit of zip from the pepper; just delicious. And very easy. This made enough for 4 people's dinner w/out leftovers. Who knew lima beans could be SO good?? The 90 minute prep time is for cooking the beans and is approximate.

I made this up the other day when I had no idea what to make for dinner. I served it under poached eggs. My kids mentioned it would work wonderfully as a taco filling. There's probably several other uses, too! The ancho gives it a bit of heat without being overpowering.

This has been requested frequently enough that I will finally submit it. This is known as Great Grammy's mac & cheese thanks to my children. It's my grandmother's recipe. I spent a day watching very carefully & making notes. ;) I don't always bake it. Sometimes I just pour the cheese sauce over the macaroni & start eating! The dish I bake this in is a Corningware Cornflower 3 quart dish - it is square with high sides vs. rectangular like a smaller 9x13x2.

I love kugel, a Jewish noodle pudding. I used the ingredient list for RSC#18 to inspire this one. Instead of raisins, I used mango. The allspice & ginger add a nice little kick. This is very easy to assemble. My family really loved this & I hope you do, too!
