Pumpkin pulp is also sold in 16-ounce cans, which makes a convenient substitute for fresh cooked pumpkin in recipes. Fresh pumpkin, however, always tastes better.

    Recipe #147116

Warp-Speed because you make it in the microwave - no all-day cooking for this spicy-sweet spread! My kids like to put it on their toast, and pretend they're having pumpkin pie for breakfast! It does taste like pumpkin pie filling, and makes a wonderful hostess gift. Make sure your recipient puts this right into the refrigerator! NOTE: Don't try to "home can" this. It's hard to get the dense-textured pumpkin hot enough in the center to assure it has processed properly, and from what I've seen, the USDA recommends against it. Just make a small batch up when you want to give someone a treat! Microwave times are approximate, as ovens vary.

    Recipe #53751

    Great for any Fall party/occasion.

    Recipe #34890

A nice change of pace from the usual hummus. You can find pumpkin seeds, also called pepitas, in groceries and Mexican markets. Prepare up to a day ahead and refrigerate.

    Recipe #143754

These waffles are my kids new favorite waffles. They're delicious! They have a light texture and the pumpkin flavor is not overpowering. The serving size is for Belgian waffles, but they will work fine in a regular waffle iron also.

    Recipe #67930

    Recipe #96865

Also called an "Ancient New England Standing Dish". This is a delicious recipe for pumpkin, known as "pompions" to English people in the 17th century (as were all squash.) It is one of the earliest written recipes from New England, from a book written by John Josselyn, a traveler to New England in the 1600's. (John Josselyn, Two Voyages to New England.) John Josselyn called this recipe a “standing dish” suggesting that this sort of pumpkin dish was eaten everyday or even at every meal. He called it “ancient” because English housewives had cooked this recipe in New England for a long time. Josselyn also says at the end of this recipe that this food provokes urine and causes gas (windy)!

My family loves these waffles! --- serve with maple syrup, honey or just with butter, cooking time will depend on your waffle maker.

A delicious recipe for pumpkin that's not a dessert! I usually make my own pumpkin puree in the blender with a little water. This dish is mild and warming; my kids like it because it looks like mac and cheese!

Our family "adopts" many new people as they enter our lives through the military, college, work, etc. I always ask them to bring a "family tradition" dish with them when they attend holiday meals and then we incorporate their traditions with ours. I have gathered many favorites over the years by doing this and there is a fond memory attached to each recipe. This cookie came from a college friend of my cousin Jane. It is simple in flavor (not too sweet) and is like a cake cookie.
