    Primal/Paleo Friendly!

DISCLAIMER: This is just a collection of basic recipes that can be used for IDEAS for meals. Please note, these recipes are as they were originally submitted and have not been edited to suit a primal/paleo lifestyle. For your own Paleo/Primal meals, tweak the recipes and omit any ingredients (or swap out as desired with more Paleo-friendly items) that don't meet your personal guidlines. Ex: rice/pasta/breads (duh!), Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce (anchovy paste sometimes works well as a substitute for this and oyster sauce, especially in marinades), flour (can use almond flour, if desired), cornstarch (can use arrowroot powder, if desired), replace chicken breasts with chicken thighs, replace ground turkey with ground pork or beef, use coconut oil in place of other oils, etc. Some recipes call for lower-fat items; replace with full fat. All recipes with sugar or honey I've had very good luck using only half the amount called for.

We served this recently at a dinner in honor of our youngest daughter who just married. As usual, people were lining up for the recipe. I've used it since 1976, adapted from a recipe that apparently came from Cornell Cooperative Extension. I changed it slightly, but always receive rave reviews when we serve it to company.

    Recipe #66941

The mayonnaise make these chicken breast very moist and tender--enjoy!

    Recipe #37336

What makes this recipe stellar is three things: 1) the low amount of oil compared to other recipes, 2) preheating the baking sheet, and 3) adding the vinegar and honey after the beets and carrots have been heated. It makes for a simple and yummy recipe.

    Recipe #418980

This recipe is from a Cook's Illustrated magazine a few years ago. This is my absolute favorite chicken recipe. The flavor is wonderful and delicious. This recipe is for kabobs, but I have also used the marinade for whole chicken breasts, which also turn out wonderful.

    Recipe #420125

This is a wonderful broccoli recipe which takes only minutes to prepare once your broccoli is steamed, and may be completely made and refrigerated for up to 48 hours in advance until ready to bake. Add in some cooked crumbled bacon also if desired --- the exact measurements do not really matter with this recipe, you can adjust all ingredients to taste, no matter how much you use the casserole will still be delicious. You will love this!

    Recipe #198799

An easy side dish that can also be served at room temperature as part of a salad. I love the combination of smoked sweet paprika and sweet butternut squash.

    Recipe #200194

I adopted this recipe after its original poster, Mean Chef, departed the site. I have made this recipe a few times, without the sauce to cut calories, and I never would've thought steak made in the oven would be so delicious!!! Mean posted the recipe on Apr 3, 2003. (IHHDRO)

This was my ex-husbands favorite! Anytime his birthday or something special came up, he wanted this. It is soooo quick and easy to make, but guests think I've slaved. It is important to serve this immediately. I don't think it took me 15 minutes for prep time, because I used the crushed garlic in the jar.

    Recipe #57471

I received this recipe from my pastor's wife. It is too sophisticated for my kids, but if you like spicy food, I think you will enjoy this. I have only made it with mahimahi, but it should work with any firm white fish.

    Recipe #84807

This makes a fast, simple meal a little bit special. It's easy enough for a work night, but dresses up well for a company meal.

    Recipe #82679

This recipe came from my MIL, it is so simple and so delicious. Great for those low carbing. I often double the sauce ingredients, we pour it over the chicken & sides after its done.

    Recipe #114078

This is a delicious low-carb alternative to cottage pie. I got the idea for the mashed cauliflower off an atkins discussion board.

    Recipe #78238

My grandmother NEVER told me this was eggplant, or I never would have eaten it. Darn it! I guess I really DO like eggplant. The nerve of her! Prep time includes time to allow eggplant "sweat" or drain.

    Recipe #83484

Great for breakfast, picnics or just a snack.

    Recipe #94624

I love stuffed peppers and was craving them on my low carb diet. I fooled around a bit and came up with these. I promise, they're so flavorful that you won't even miss the rice. Enjoy!

    Recipe #102901

These are so delish that you don't even know they are LC.

    Recipe #160413

Easy, quick and good for you soup. This recipe is actually from a WW website; but for my low carb diet I added some lean ground beef and made some other adaptions. If you are on WW, skip the beef and it's 0 points per serving. If you are watching your sodium intake, use low sodium broth and no added salt tomatoes.

    Low Carb Flank Steak Marinade

    Recipe #82815

This classic French braised beef, red wine, and vegetable stew is simple and delicious. The flavor and texture allow you to keep it warm for your guests. Buy a whole-grain baguette, bagged salad greens, and bottled vinaigrette to round out the meal. Directions to make in slow cooker included.

    Recipe #155200

One of my first ever recipes made when I left home, very simple but I still love it!
