With my love for frozen things and apples, this was a perfect thing for me. The recipe yields 4 servings, but when I'm eating it...well, it's just for one. Great served when having a small bbq with friends or for just a weeknight dessert.
Recipe adapted from Todd Wilbur's version of McDonald's Shamrock Shake www.TopSecretRecipes.com. I used to absolutely love it when McDonald's brought out their Shamrock Shakes around St. Patrick's Day. The past couple of years I haven't been able to have it because of the dairy, so I was thrilled when I found this copycat recipe! Just use the soy ingredients to make it dairy-free.
Not too dissimilar from Red Velvet Cake, this beauty would be a wonderful dessert for St. Patrick's Day or Christmas Day! It is a beautiful green treat set off by your favorite cream cheese frosting. It would do either of the saints, Patrick or Nicholas, proud! Note that the food coloring can be adjusted, lighter or darker, to suit your eye by using more or less food coloring.
Subtle yet distinctive, the difference between Key Lime juice and regular lime juice comes through in this delicious cake. Because of its pale green color, this cake resembles a lemon cake...unless you add a few drops of green food color to the cake or glaze! The recipe came from a local paper years ago. My mile high altitude requires a longer cooking time, so you may have to adjust the timing on this.
I have a good friend that loves Key Lime Pie. I saw this in the current issue of "Bon Appetit" and immediately baked one up for her. She was not dissapointed. She said this version was one of the best she's ever tasted! I agree.
A healthy way to start your day! Matcha Green Tea Powder can be found at your Japanese Grocer or ordered online. If you are not familiar with Matcha Green Tea, here is a link to a rather lengthy desciption.
This recipe was my wonderful mother's. Having been raised in California, we ate avocados every day. This is one of my husband's favorites. It can also be used on a sandwich and recently I actually smashed it up and filled eggs with it. A big hit with my friends.
I watched this years the National Pie Championships held by the American Pie Council(2006) and was just in awe at the creative recipes that were entered. This southern entry had the pickiest of judges raving. I have found conflicting information on who entered this pie...when I figure it out I will return with the right name.
My daughter saw this dessert on the cover of "Kraft's What's cooking?" magazine and asked me to make it for a special lunch. It is great light dessert that you can make ahead. It looks so elegant and the citrus flavour is out of this world! Cook time is freezer time.
I found this in with my grandmothers recipes. (Memories)A good drink to serve on St Patty's Day!Stick a straw and enjoy a minty milkshake! Try also using mint chocolate, chocolate ice cream! Blend in your favorite cookie!
