This is a pasta salad that is a big hit everywhere we take it. It was given to me by my mother-in-law - Kris. It is simple, but it has to be made the night before. You really can't go wrong with this one!
This is a dish my family and friends ask me to bring to potluck/cook-outs! NEVER any left to bring home! (my sister brings a bowl to take what MIGHT be left) Taste great hot out of the oven or "room temperature"
On Easter of 2000, this Salad rocked our family luncheon like a hurricane. It took forever for me to track down the recipe because I hadn't been paying that much attention to the food...I was the designated egg-hider! But I loved it, and remembered it, and when Benette stopped feeling up to cooking I took over the responsibility of salad-maker!
This is great for picnics and potlucks. It's a salad, but that doesn't mean it's healthy, low fat or low calorie. Guys tend to like this salad. There's just enough bacon and cheese in here to make them forget they're eating lettuce. ;)
Prep time does not include cooking the bacon.
This is great for someone with little time and money. I couldn't find anything this simple when I was looking so I thought I would add it.
You can add or substitute many different things. My sister puts chopped sweet pickles. My grandma would put cucumber and canned crab meat and shrimp instead of ham.
This is my own macaroni salad. I did not get it from my mother or my grandmother and I did not get it out of a book or off the internet. It is not Amish, Cajun, Mexican or any other description of the various macaroni salads that are posted on the internet. It is my own made up salad. It is designed after my own recipe #20155 that I have posted on Recipezaar (with 121 high reviews, thank you very much to those that have tried it). The dressing is mostly the same, but there are a few other ingredients in this salad that is not in my potato salad. I hope some of you will enjoy it as much as you did the other.
