I made this pie this weekend. It's adapted from The Perfect Recipe cookbook by Pam Anderson. Wow, we agreed it was the best lemon meringue pie recipe we'd ever had. The filling is very lemony sweet/tart and fluffy. The meringue is tall and fluffy/light. Prep times are estimated. It takes a little time, but is well worth it. Lemon meringue pie was first invented in Philadelphia. This recipe represents the Mid-Atlantic U.S. region.
I love Chicken Tortilla soup and know that there are many recipes out there. I have adjusted the recipes I have tried and this is what my results ended up being. This is so easy and I usually put this in my big roaster and cook all day for 5 hours or so on low. Serve with a spinach salad and you are good to go.
I got this from my girlfriend, she always makes it when I go for dinner because I have a shell fish allergy and miss being able to eat it. This tastes like the real thing and now I make it all the time when I am having company. It is so easy and yet so good.
Serve with a good cracker or cocktail bread.
I tried this recipe the first time from a cookbook a girl at work was selling called Recipes for Life-Cooking for a Cure ,that was written for her friend who had ALS.. It was put together by family and friends lovingly to help find a cure for Mary Lou who did not beat this horrible disease. You will in time find, that I will post many recipes from this wonderful cookbook which had a second publishing that I have contributed recipes for.
I form this into a log and place on pretty platter and put the pita bread around it !
Everythime I go through my stacks of cookbooks and folders, I find a recipe that I loved and could not throw away. This is another one of those recipes. I got this out of a cookkbook from 25 years ago and still enjoy making this.
This is SO good and easy.I don't even want to give the recipe out when asked because it is so simple. Once you try this you might decide to add more or less jalapenos..When I make two pies, I really load one up with jalapenos and then top the pie with a few for a design and to let people know this is the HOT one !!!!
I love soup and will cook several kinds on a weekend when I play catch on house cleaning and laundry ! Only until golf season that is !!! I freeze some and keep the rest in the fridge for a quick dinner during the busy work week.. I usually double the recipe because it does not seem to last long !
This are so good and I have been making them for years. They are so easy, What more could you want? I marinade them frozen in a gallon zip lock bag. Easier to turn every so often. I use Tyson Wing Flings, they are the best.
I try to avoid using "To Die For" as a description, but Houston Steak House's baked Spinach and Artichoke Dip is the best of the best! Houston's serves it hot with tortilla chips, veggies, sour cream and salsa. Recipe courtesy of Houston's Restaurant.
Being Greek born I have tried my share of moussaka recipes over the years, this is a basic easy recipe I have been making for years and still make often, it has remained a huge family favorite, I have served this many times to guests for a dinner parties and always receive rave reviews! ---the traditional Greek moussaka usually has about 1 teaspoon cinnamon added to the meat mixture, you might want to add it in my family prefers it without --- you may also want to "sweat" the eggplant slices with a bit of salt sprinkled on for 1 hour before using
To save some time the meat sauce may be made up to a day ahead if desired, try to use extra-lean ground beef for this it will make a difference in flavor, small penne pasta may be replaced for the ziti, but I do recommend using the ziti, adjust the chili flakes to suit heat level, or you may omit if desired --- also see my recipe#66596
