This is a full-flavored rich pizza sauce that I have been making for over 20 years, the longer you simmer this sauce the thicker and richer it will be --- this sauce freezes very well and even tastes better if made a day ahead and left in the fridge overnight to blend flavors --- also see my recipe#232188
My DH loves those frozen Tony's Pizza Rolls....I'll eat them too, but....what exactly is in them?? We probably don't want to even know! These are MUCH better and at least we know what we're eating!! Buy extra sauce for dipping if you'd like, but they really don't need it. Also, add/omit any ingredients you like or don't like. Make them to your own taste of course. This is what we like in them.
The comment I hear from everyone the first time they eat this is, "This is the best pizza I've ever had!" My daughters have old high school friends who still ask for this. It's very filling, so one pan goes a ways.
Under orders from the teenagers in the house, I created recipes for their favourite take out breadsticks and dipping sauce. The bread sticks are very easy to make and the recipe has been posted separately as Bread Sticks - Pizza Hut Style
I found this in quick and easy style cookbook a long time ago. It literally takes only 15 minutes from start to finish to make! I made changes that my family likes and this is what I ended up with. My family really likes to make these as well and eat them. The kids have tons of fun making their own.
My mom made these when I was a child and now my daughter and I are making them together too. Very fun meal to get the kids involved! Would be perfect for a birthday party - a mini pizza party where you can pick your own toppings!! This is also a great idea for daycares - the kids love being involved in making their meals.
Over the past few years there's been several public searches for the best pizza in America and believe it or not, Phoenix Chef Chris Bianco is the hands down winner! There's only five ingredients needed to make a basic pizza dough! So what does he do differently? According to Chef Bianco, it's all in how it's handled. The following recipe is ideal for most pizzas, even great for grilled pizzas! Read the directions carefully before beginning. If you're ever in Phoenix, Bianco's Pizza is a must!
UPDATE: The only way we bake pizza today is on the grill using this innovative pan . . . http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002OOMSA/ref=oss_product .
An absolute must!!!!
Wish I could remember where I picked up this recipe [over 30 years ago], but I can't! In spite of the detailed directions, it is easy to make & great-tasting, to boot! And, I'm one of those who can thoroughly enjoy a simple cheese & sauce pizza! Preparation time does not include the 2 hours it takes for the dough to rise.
