The shepherd was allegedly seen doing inappropriate things with the sheep, so he was temporarily reassigned to a herd of cattle while he underwent therapy, and therefore the only thing he could bring home to the cook was beef.
This I made with for unexpected company! A Cajun style quiche with a spicy kick and a delicate hint of crabmeat. To make as an Appetizers pour into a buttered 9x13 and bake 350 for 30 minutes and cut into small squares. This is a great travel food bring for pot luck or to a picnic.
My husband and father-in-law love this! It's a bit time-consuming, but worth the spectacular results. Truly a handsome dish! From one of those Pillsbury mini-magazine things you buy at the supermarket. Please note that you can use leftover mashed potatoes as well, or make homemade if you really hate instant!
We've got a new local dairy (in such a small country, local also means national), that makes some of the best cheeses (and soy milk and soy puddings). This recipe really showcases their ricotta and feta cheeses. This is a great vegetarian dish to serve, we usually have some kind of variation after the Yom Kippur fast day. I also like to add some za'atar in with the oregano.
This is a recipe I found on the net that sounded just yummy. Thought I would post it for those of you on the WW diet! When I try it I'll let you know. WW diet or not, it still sounds yummy to me! 3 WW points per serving
This pie crust retains the flavor of an all butter crust, but is flakier because of the shortening. The lemon juice isn't in the recipe for lemon flavour... trust me you won't taste it, but rather to work with the flour and prevent the pastry from being tough. I also find that the dough gives a bigger yield than the original 9 inch size stated, I roll mine relatively thin and can get a full top and bottom for a 26 cm (12 inch) shallow pie dish. I have included 20+ step by step photographs to help you see *exactly* how this is made so that you now have instructions for making an entire pie crust from ingredients to table. The new instructions may look long, but I have only tried to give practical details to that even if this is your first ever pie crust, you will have ALL the information you need for success. Enjoy! This is a very delicious seafood quiche, I have made this quite often for a luncheons, everyone just loves it. This recipe make 2, 8-inch pies, just divide all ingredients evenly between the two pie shells. If my memory serves me right, I believe the original recipe called for one large deep-dish, 10-inch pie plate, but I prefer to make it into two, 8-inch pies.
