One of my adopted recipes, this pie is a bit out of the ordinary. It did not turn out like I expected, but I enjoyed it. Try it and see if you like it too. Preparation time includes cooling time for the pineapple layer.
This is the best-ever Lemon Meringue Pie you could ask for. It is made with fresh lemons and fresh grated lemon peel. This is to die for---well not actually, but it has great lemon flavor and it is not that hard to make. Before putting the lemon filling in the pie shell, you will notice that a couple of tablespoons of the meringue go into the filling. It is wonderful. Once you make this you will not want to have any other.
My mother-in-law found this recipe in a Better Homes and Garden and requested that I make it. I had never made a cherry pie before, but the recipe was so easy and everyone loved it! It has become a family favorite.
My mother has been making this recipe for over 20 years. The original recipe comes from the cookbook White Trash Cooking by Matthew Meckler. This has a dense texture and intense almost dark chocolate flavor instead of a creamy pudding type filling.
My grandmother gave me this apple pie recipe after she made it for me during a visit about 5 years ago. I like to use Granny Smith apples, leave the peel on, and cut slices that are a little thick, but do whatever you wish! This is a very good pie and I'm always asked to make it! Thanks, Grandma!! I got this recipe from Taste Of Home magazine. I'm digging out my apple recipes, since it's getting to be apple season here. These are really yummy little pastries! Be sure and hide some for yourself, because they will disappear quickly. Prep time includes refrigeration time.
