This heavenly version of banoffee pie is ridiculously easy to make. Although the preparation time is very long, most of that time involves the condensed milk caramelising in the pan without your supervision. Hope you enjoy it!
The pick of the lot! This recipe was given to me many years ago by a nun who was a chef. She willingly gave me her recipe and needless to say I have never bought a pie since I got this recipe. It is never fail. The recipe is also in the company's coming cookbook---Pies.
NOTE:Use this pastry for quiches, meat pies, turnovers, sausage rolls,or even small rounds.
From my favourite church cookbook, where all the recipes are tried and true! **Like most of the reviews state, if you don't want to fight with the pastry to make it fit a cookie sheet - make 1.5x the dough recipe or use a smaller pan.
A W E S O M E! The crust makes this so decidedly different and yummy! A margarita flavored creamy filling in a crunchy pretzel pie crust! Now that is my kind of dessert!
So good I hurt myself!
TY to adopt a greyhound for the great idea to put these in lime shells. Great idea and great pics!
This pie gets a lot of mmmmm's. It is two separate layers and looks beautiful when sliced. I make it every year for the holidays and family won't accept anything else. easy easy easy and comes out perfect every time
Our community recently had an old fashioned Pie Contest and this is the winning pie by Cindy Tymkiw. It looks easy and the raves about it could be heard miles away. Cindy says "Hope you enjoy! Even if you count your calories this is very hard to resist."
If you really want to impress your guests or family with a dessert then this is it! This is a never-fail pie that I have made on many occasions, it's absolutely fantastic! --- plan ahead the pie needs to chill for a minimum of 8 hours before serving --- it's also wonderful even without the chocolate-dipped cherries, the first time I made it I did use the cherries, the second time I made this I just drizzled the melted chocolate on the cold pie, then dolluped whipped cream around the edge of the pie :)
