I saw this made today on Food Safari during a program featuring the food of Mauritius. The sauce is supposedly eaten at least twice a day so I'm imagining it is used with other seafoods, meats and as a condiment. I really want to try this with my home grown tomatoes.
I got this recipe from my daughter-in-law who got it from her mum, who got it for a friend and I plan to take it to my sister's for Christmas dinner. Don't like the sound of it? Great! More for me. Seriously, we had it last night and I could have eaten the whole dish on my own. This is one of those dishes that is made better by using good ingredients-our strawberries were fresh from the farm and beautiful!
This combines 2 of my favourite foods salmon and sweet potato and being diabetic friendly is a big bonus. From BH&G Australian Diabetic Living. They suggest serving it with a garden salad or you could stuff into pita bread with salad or put them in a wrap with salad or on bread or roll of choice.
Shakshouka (shakshoka, chakchouka, shak-shouka, shak shouka) is a Tunisian and Israeli dish made of cooked tomatoes, peppers, spices and eggs. It is very similar to the Turkish dish Menemen and to the Latin American breakfast dish huevos rancheros.
In Israeli cuisine, the dish is made of eggs, tomatoes, and onions or garlic. Shakshouka is typically eaten with a pita, like many other Middle Eastern dishes, or with white bread that is dipped in it. Posted for ZWT#6
This is a yummy, healthy salad recipe, which will have you come back for more. :)
Well at least, if you like earthy beet flavour, combined with sweet apple and salty feat cheese. I hope youll enjoy!
The original version of this dish comes from German chef Tim Mälzer.
This recipe from BBC Good Food is a quickie version of paella. It is made with basmati rice which shortens the cooking time considerably. It is a great recipe for a weeknight meal and it reheats well. In fact, it tastes better the second time around!
This is a recipe I came up with the other night as I had a pork loin to use up. I didn’t know what I wanted to do with it so I just used a bunch of stuff I already had in my fridge and cupboard and it turned out really well. I served ours over egg and vegetable fried rice but it would be just as nice served over steamed rice as well. Prep time does not include marinating time.
Families in central and northwestern Spain enjoy this peppery potpourri of vegetables. In some areas, scrambled eggs are added, or eggs are poached on top of the mixture. From Classic International Recipes. Posted for ZWT.
This is the only pasta salad my husband will eat. The dressing though similar to other BLT salads on the site has one major difference and it really adds a wonderful zip to the salad. When ever I serve this salad several people go home with the recipe.
A delicious and easy pasta dish that you can substitute chicken for the shrimp if you are not a fan. You can also use a different shape of pasta, but linguine is nice. The optional ingredients are really good but you can omit if you can't stand a little heat. If I use all those ingredients, I find it a little hot, so I add about 1/2 cup half and half cream. I tried to keep it healthy here though! Enjoy!
