This is one of my favorite snacks. It can be served with crackers, or I like to eat it with the big corn chips (Scoops) or serve it in jumbo pasta shells. It's easily doubled if you want to use a whole brick of cream cheese and a pound of imitation crabmeat. This is fairly chunky; if you want it to be more spreadable, increase the amount of cream cheese/mayonnaise. Cook time is chill time.
I'm wondering if these are anything like the turkey legs you can buy at Disney World or the Renaissance festivals; thus the "Walkaway" because you can walk around with them. Our local grocery had turkey legs really cheap, so I've been searching for recipes to try and posting them here so I can easily find.
Since it's so hot, I've been searching for crock pot recipes for things I normally cook in the oven. This recipe is from the Slow Cooker Fix It and Forget It Cookbook and is credited to Clarice Williams of Fairbank, IA.
This was in a McCormick ad in the Sunday newspaper coupon insert and looks so tasty in the picture! The picture shows potato wedges that look like they're coated in the same seasoning mixture, so I'm guessing you can roast the potatoes along with the chicken at the same time. The seasoning ingredients are in most everyone's pantry.
