"A perfect treat for unexpected guests because you can make them in advance, freeze them, and pop them in the oven when friends drop by." --Hall's Potato Harvest Cookbook. ** I used almost a whole bag of bbq chips on a batcfh of potato bites, as well as a lot more parmesan cheese. Also a few more eggs for the outside as well, we like them well coated!!!

    Recipe #351979

These are easy, delicious, sweet, gooey, and better yet: super healthy! These could practically be dessert they are so good! This will be the easiest yam dish you ever made.

    Recipe #349248

Straightforward mac n cheese made w/ a white sauce and using plain yogurt in the recipe and reserved cheese topping. I left out salt on this and let ea. person add their own salt and extra pepper at the table. Also, I freshly grate my nutmeg and use NY State Cheddar. This is a starting point for mac and cheese. Some embellish it with tomato, other cheeses, onion, green or sweet red peppers, buttered bread crumbs or cracker topping etc. I adapted it from "Now....Your'e Cooking" website.

    Recipe #346079

Though I'm not particularly a fan of canned asparagus, this casserole version produces a mighty fine dish...it's all in the sauce.

    Recipe #345334

With only three ingredients salt, potatoes and extra virgin olive oil, and you are rewarded with a divinely creamy and buttery dish of mashed potatoes. Yukon Gold potatoes have a naturally unique buttery flavor with no butter added! Ordinary salt is one of the ingredients here. Use any salt you like, but (imo) great salt will give even more great flavor! I can't wait to try this with different varieties of salt to discover the differences. I think this recipe leaves lots of room for experimenting with flavored or infused extra virgin olive oil and various salts. Experimenting is half the fun! Let me know what you use please. I am so interested! I do not know much about Kosher or Jewish food and cooking but I think these might even work well there as well. Discovered in Gourmet Magazine, Paris! 9/2008.

    Recipe #321401

This dish is not only savory and zesty, but also very healthy. My family loved this dish and so will you! The vegetables and spices used can be switched and substituted for unlimited tasty combinations.

    Recipe #307263

Nice Mexican twist on boring old rice. If you can't find parboiled rice at your grocery store, long-grain rice may be substituted, but just won't be quite as yummy.

    Recipe #304883

This recipe is super easy, impressive looking, delicious and relatively healthy! What more could you ask for? I serve this in the summer time and it's a great alternative to a mundane veggie side. It's beautiful and will impress any guests! The number of zucchini you use greatly depends on the size. Eyeball it. I'm sure you will find something to do with them if there are any extras!

    Recipe #303285

A GREAT side dish with any meal! Full of flavor and a popular choice for a potluck. Creamy with bits of sweet corn kernels. My favorite vegetable casserole.

    Recipe #294564

OUTSTANDING! My mother always knew how to season food and she was a great cook! The blend of the vegetables seasoned with chili powder makes this casserole go to the top of the scale!! You can go up or down with the amount of chili powder to suit your own spicy taste. You may like to change the spice to Italian seasoning and try that. I do it both ways.

    Recipe #290038

This recipe was tucked away in one of my mom's old files! I'm not a big asparagus fan, but others in my family have enjoyed this for decades!

    Recipe #286253

It does take a little more effort than box macaroni, but it's totally worth it. Besides, it doesn't really take any more time, because you make the sauce while the noodles cook! The added cottage cheese keeps it creamy and cheesy even with less cheddar, no butter, and less oil. If you want to bake it, sprinkle some buttered bread crumbs on top and bake it in a greased dish at 350F for 30-35 minutes. I'm usually too much in a hurry to want to wait for it to finish baking, so stove top macaroni is king at our house!

Another one from grandma's recipe box.... This is from an old newspaper and at the top says "Friendly Gatherings, No matter what is traditional in your family holidays perhaps you might look to a change by trying one of our traditions." Grandma started making this for part of our Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner when I was about 8... Once I was old enough to be in the kitchen cooking, about 9, this was always my dish to prepare....

    Recipe #246179

Uses reduced fat products. Easy to make for a side dish or meatless main.

    Recipe #224965

This is a very easy dish I made by throwing together ingredients I had lying around the house. It can be jazzed up by replacing the cheddar with pepper jack cheese. I also like to boil pickled jalepenos with my potatoes to infuse them with spice. This makes a great side dish or make it a meal by adding ground turkey or chicken.
