    Old Bay Recipes

These are recipes that feature Old Bay as an ingredient. Old Bay isn't something I grew up using - I just purchased my first can recently - so it's new to me and I wanted to collect recipes to see what it's all about.

    Recipe #4069

    1 Reviews |  By Teaque

I first made this one day when I wanted something different then regular hot dogs. I was probably around 9 and didn't know that cooking meat in its own juice makes it fattier, but if you don't care about that it is great. Especially for kids. I have friends who had it when they were younger and still ask me to make it for them when they come over. Tell me what you think!

    Recipe #91326

Crab toppings for steak and fish are an extra treat! This recipe given as a response to a request on the boards.

    Recipe #29116

Old Bay is good for so many things. It especially jazzes up Blood Marys.

If you have the ingredients on hand this is a less expensive way to go-a must for crab cakes and shrimp.

This can be used for what ever you want but I made this for Fathers day along with my Blooming Onion recipe #70382. My SIL said it tastes just like Outback Steak House makes.

    Recipe #94310

This was one of those "thrown together" recipes that turned out really good.

    Recipe #102204

Be careful not to stir the crab too much into the other ingredients. Best to fold the mixture gently with a spatula to combine everything. You want the big chunks of tasty crab to stay together as big chunks of tasty crab. Freshly cooked blue crab is the best choice for this recipe; however a good quality canned crab is an acceptable substitute.

As all you crab afficionados know, the term "Delmarva" refers to the coastal areas bordering on the states of Delaware (Del), Maryland (mar)and Virginia (va) where the world's best crabmeat is harvested. Thing is that a lot of people go to a lot of trouble (and a lot of expense) to buy the best lump crabmeat available -- but then they use a mass-produced commercial product to season it. Weird! This recipe for 'homemade' seasoning is courtesy of Epicurious. All you Old Bay die-hards, I defy you to try it and tell me you can't taste a difference!! :)

    Recipe #170734

An Appetizer that is sure to please them even if they don't like crab!

    Recipe #73527

This was adapted from Aliza Green from Field Guide to Herbs & Spices. A little different from the recipes already here. Traditionally, this seasoning is used for steamed crabs, but is now used for fish, potato salad, potatoes, and other vegetables. This would also make a great gift, along with some recipes! Enjoy!

    Recipe #189447

Another very simple recipe...and a healthy one as well.

You can add horseradish for more of a Zing!O for some nice fresh heat try adding a tablespoon of JOY coriander chutney (basically cilantro and chilies).

    Recipe #61367

Healthy and quick - give these salmon patties a try. Add some homemade tartar sauce (1/4 c. light mayo, 1 T. pickle relish, dash lemon juice, and optional 1 t. horseradish) and some fresh corn on the cob.

    Recipe #17905

My family's Beach Vacation Fun Dip. We eat this at the pool or while playing cards. A recipe to try at least one time and you'll be hooked. This dip will keep in the fridge for 1 week, But I doubt it will last 1 day!
