    Old Bay Recipes

These are recipes that feature Old Bay as an ingredient. Old Bay isn't something I grew up using - I just purchased my first can recently - so it's new to me and I wanted to collect recipes to see what it's all about.

Pretty standard fish and chips style fish. the beer batter and cornstarch make for a very crispy crust. Not a whole lot of grease if you're careful. From Alton Brown's Good Eats

    Recipe #42712

This is my own version of a traditional Gulf Coast favorite. This is for very casual dining, and I prefer to cook it for outdoor parties with a gas cooker.

    Recipe #106485

Crab toppings for steak and fish are an extra treat! This recipe given as a response to a request on the boards.

    Recipe #29116

This mixture of eggplant, shrimp, and red bell pepper in a white cheese, savory custard base is so good! I went the reduced-fat route, but you can scale it by whatever artery-hardening factor you'd like (i.e., use full-fat cheese, all whole eggs, and cream). You can also scale it to increase the number of servings, making sure to increase the size of your skillet or other baking dish accordingly (I think my 10" cast iron skillet could probably handle a doubling but I'm not certain).

A hearty side dish. Try it with Recipe #63245.

    Recipe #63246

This recipe actually started out as a homemade ravioli filling. I had a bunch left over after I made the ravioli, so I added a few things and came up with this. This is just a product of my imagination, so I'm interested to find out what you think. My BF devoured them the first time I made them, and when I served them at a small dinner party, they seemed to go over very well.

    Recipe #100406

I found this recipe from a "Women's World" magazine. You could use this stuffing for any seafood you like, but it works great with shrimp. It's very easy to make, and is definitely a hit.

    Recipe #58892

    elegant, southern-seafood stuffing

Needs only a salad to make a complete meal.

    Recipe #37343

In Italian this dish is called Funghi Portabello Farci Con Carne di Granchi. These are Maryland Crab Cakes and can be fried or baked without the Portabello mushrooms.

    Recipe #91591

There are numerous recipes for Maryland Crab Cakes. I lived in Baltimore for many years and this is the best recipe for Crab Cakes that I had ever tasted.

    Recipe #79264

I love crabs. they are up there with yabbies as my favourite food. This is one of my grandma's recipes. I have only ever cooked this dish once and it was very nice.

    Recipe #67787

SPICY! If you love spicy shrimp dishes, this one is for you. I serve it over rice, but you could have it any way you like. For those who don't like it really spicy, reduce the amount of chipotles. Would be great barbequed and basted with the sauce. Adapted from a magazine clipping. Easily cuts in half for smaller servings.

A co-worker made a fabulous crab quiche for brunch at work last week, and she is one of those stingy recipe people, so I couldn't get the recipe:( Well, I was determined to replicate the dish, and I came up with this one...which I think is even tastier than hers!! I hope you enjoy this as much as I did.

    Recipe #90108

    Recipe #27977

I stole this one from a family member, It's super easy to make and so delicious. Steelhead is kind of a cross between salmon and trout. This recipe can easily be substituted with salmon, and can be done on the BBQ as well be sure to use foil and or a bakesheet. Leftovers make great sandwiches!
