This dish is good enough for company. It is an easy dish to make and looks good. The chicken stays very moist.

    Recipe #22363

I haven't made this yet but it sounds great. It uses 2 cans cheddar cheese soup and rice, mmm. I think I might add shredded carrots or spinach to the rice mixture before cooking. I also think it would be great with chicken.

Hamburger steak is a great method of enjoying hamburger without the bread. This Hamburger Steak recipe has a little twist in that not only hamburger meat is used. You can made the burgers up and freeze for future use.

    Recipe #122095

This recipe came from the Barnwell Scool Cookbook. It's one of those great cookbooks from a small prairie town that I use EVERY day. It's so great! (Barnwell, Alberta) This recipe serves lots, and is great if you are have a big group of people to feed. My kids love them, as well as all the kids in our neighbourhood that visit often, and love to stay for dinner when this is in my oven!

Fresh, tart apples from the orchard and some freshly-dug carrots, onions and garlic from the garden will give this stewy-soup a real punch of vitality! We butcher our own chickens, too, so this is VERY fresh!

    Recipe #185850

This stew has an exotic spicy flavor that I liked. Try it if you want to take a walk on the wild side. Freezes well.

This meatloaf is the ONLY meatloaf that will come into this house. If fact this was the first thing I ever made that my husband liked (he had 3 pieces!!!) After making this- I knew I might have a chance of being able to cook good food!!! The relish is pretty tasty!! You gotta try it! I think that this would freeze well too!

This comforting, high-protein gratin is good hot or cold, and especially pretty if you serve it with a fresh tomato sauce. It's from Martha Rose Shulman's column in the New York Times, "Recipe For Health". DO AHEAD: You can grate and salt the squash several hours before you make the gratin. The gratin will keep for a couple of days in the refrigerator, and can be reheated or served cold or at room temperature.

A quick and easy chicken casserole.... I always substitute the ingredients for my favorite biscuit recipe (adding just enough extra milk so that it will pour) in place of the Bisquick and the milk. We don't like the bagged frozen mixed vegetables, so I saute some fresh cut-up carrots, frozen green beans, celery, etc. and then toss them into the casserole. Reheats and freezes well.

I got the idea for this recipe from a book called Cook Milk in any flavour you like. Mine is similar but with many modifications. I use store bought bread bowls, however I have noticed bread bowl recipes on this site. The other option is to serve it with dumplings

This has been a favorite in my family for years. It is the most requested meal of my kids & their friends. I like to double the recipe and freeze one to have on hand for a quick supper. Also, I use a rice cooker to make the saffron rice. Just put in the water, rice, and butter, push the button and it is perfect every time and ready when you need it to assemble the casserole. I also use the lower fat sour cream and mayo, but prefer the regular cream of chicken soup, not the lower fat version. Kids and adults will enjoy this recipe. My daughter and her boyfriend were home from college over the holidays and were headed out the door to go out to dinner...until I said "Okay, but I made Chicken and Yellow Rice"....they exchanged glances and turned around and join the rest of the family for dinner....

This is a 2ND PLACE WINNER. I won second place in a chili cook-off as well as a 2 foot trophy for my chili recipe. I hope you enjoy :) For a special treat top with grated cheese, onion and a dollop of sour cream.

This is almost like dinner and a dessert in one. It's not quite that sweet, but I love the flavor of the honey and pecans. Sorta like a praline, but not quite. The chicken comes out moist and tender. It's so easy to make too. I like to throw all the seasonings into a ziploc bag, then put the chicken in and shake until coated. Then you can just throw the bag out.

A great way to use left over turkey. This freezes well for later use, just let it cool some and put in a ziploc freezer bag (without rice).

Another recipe posted for future use. It is from Joanna Lund. I can't wait to try this. Typical "Mexican" food won't fit into my diet plan, but this one will fit nicely. Prep times are estimates. The recipe says it can be frozen successfully. Only 295 colories per serving. The Diabetic Exchanges per serving are: 2 Protein, 2 Vegetable and 1 starch.

    Recipe #138889

This is a fab recipe for the working person as it can be made ahead or just on the spot. I discovered this recipe through a Church Fav cookbook, And wow is it Simple and tasty. This is a must try for anyone. This can be made with low fat soup and low fat cheese.

    Recipe #351352

This is from a book called "Make Ahead Meals". The Siesta Fiesta comes from being to rest if you already had it made in your freezer! You can combine all of the ingredients except cheese and cornbread mix and freeze in a large freezer bag. When you are ready to fix it, thaw it and go from there!

    Recipe #18370

I found this recipe several years ago in Southern Living magazine and it is wonderful! My Mom really loves this so I always have to make it for her on special occasions. This really makes a HUGE amount...but the ingredients could easily be cut in half. Better yet, one dish could be frozen for later use. Enjoy!

    Recipe #40274

A new twist on an old favorite! Feeds a family of 6-8, and is great on a cold winter night. I came up with this recipe when I was trying to get my husband to eat more family-style casserole dishes (he's not a fan of casseroles). I served it right out of the oven, bubbling hot, with a slice of crusty french bread and a small dinner salad. He ate three helpings and told me that I should definitely put "that one" in my recipe box.

    Recipe #351650

I love this spaghetti sauce, I make it monthly and then freeze into individual dinner size portions. Originally from Quick Cooking, I think. *In my house a serving is 1/2 cup, and I freeze my sauce in 2 cups containers.
