    OAMC - Poultry Plan

I love OAMC for all the extra time I have to spend with my family. It's easy to cook a little extra during a weekend or double up during the week. All these recipes are good from the freezer! Some of these recipes don't show that they are OAMC or freezer compatible but I have either done them myself or have been told by other chefs here how to go about it. If you ever have any questions, please come over to the Cooking on a Budget: OAMC, Make Ahead, Freezing & More

A quick, healthy meal and great tasting.

    Recipe #13782

This is one of our family favorites. It's creamy, delicious, and they won't mind eating their veggies. :)You can also add some shredded cheese if desired.

    Recipe #13821

This is just how KFC serves them in Australia. Very yummy and my personal favourite item served at KFC. It took me a little while to work out how to do it properly but, now it is worth it and I thought I would share it with all of you.

These wings are so easy to make, and finger licking good. Every time I bring these to the office as a snack they go in minutes. I usually marinate a whole heap of these wings, and divide them up into bags in the freezer. And each time I am pushed for time, I just pull out a bag (a portion enough for my family) and pop them into the grill. The longer the wings stay marinated, the tastier they are. Whatever you do, do NOT leave the honey out. Makes a BIG difference. Pretty healthy dish.

This is a delicious crock pot recipe that I found on this site, but adapted it to my own tastes. It smells great while it is cooking! After cooking it for 3 hours, I took out the chicken and placed it in a serving dish, then took the sauce and added cornstarch to make it thicker. The sauce was then used to pour over the chicken or the rice. Some other ideas I have, which I would like to try sometime, would be to cut up the chicken into strips and then add stir-fry veggies to the chicken and sauce. This would be like a stir-fry! (one that would take a while though) Who knows, maybe we will try it sometime!

This is so simple, it's almost a non-recipe, but so delicious I had to submit it. I came up with it one day when I wanted to do something different with a pork tenderloin. It was such a hit, it became a family favorite, replacing the pallid-by-comparison taco meat. It works just as well with boneless chicken or beef. It's very popular at potlucks and get-togethers, also. Pork weight is an estimate...I just use a good-sized roast. This is also a good recipe for OAMC, as you can cook and shred, then package the meat for later use.

Make ahead a freeze, great to have on hand for weekdays. Or for a busy weekend. I usually make 2 freeze one.

    Recipe #120007

This recipe will give you 2 meals, plus leftovers. The ground turkey makes it lower in fat, the ground beef keeps it moist. You will not taste the turkey. It's my husband's two very favorite meals. If someone in your family doesn't like meatloaf, make meatballs and watch them disappear.

Makes a nice big pot of cure a cold, feel-good, Friday Night chicken soup. If you are looking for crisp veggies and a light, clear broth, this is not the recipe you want. Long cooking allows for the flavor of the veggies and chicken to really penetrate the broth (leaving the veggies quite soft), and keeping the cover off concentrates the flavors further. Add fine egg noodles or kreplach (Jewish meat dumplings) and you'll want to dive into the bowl! Enjoy!

I first enjoyed a version of this in a little restaurant in Cozumel on a cliff overlooking the Caribbean Sea. The combination of salsa and cinnamon gives a zesty tropical taste to everyday chicken! If you can find the currants, they give a special complex flavor to the dish.

    Recipe #153632

I like to use this for OAMC sessions. I usually divide the recipe into two making 2 8 x 8 pans. Try different kinds of beans and cheeses for a change.

    Recipe #198828

This was on the back of the Good Seasons package. We use it for freezer meals, and as it thaws it marinades. Its called "dump" because you dump everything into a bag, super easy!

Another throw it together in a bag and freeze for that day when you don't want to think about what's for dinner!

    Recipe #240429

Keep all the traditional goodness of chicken tetrazzini yet whittle out some of the fat and calories. A great kid-friendly, weeknight meal to use up leftover chicken or a rotisserie chicken from the deli. If you're not watching fat intake, feel free to use full-fat ingredients.

    Recipe #254355

This is a favorite of mine. It freezes nicely.

Two bowls and a pan--not much of a mess! Probably want to double the recipe since there will be NO leftovers!! Everyone loves these little crunchers!

    Recipe #263305

Another Quick and Easy OAMC recipe!

    Recipe #182179

This recipe came from my buddy Danny at work. He brought it for one of our luncheons here and everyone loved it including me. If you read this, Danny. Thank you for the great recipe!

Chimichangas any way you want them: right now or later, baked or fried. From BH&G

    Recipe #57027

I found a great recipe on another website, but didn't have Italian cheese, so I substituted and came up with this. My family loves it and there is never leftovers! EDIT: I have changed the recipe to reflect that you need to cook the chicken first.
