This is posted for the World Tour 2005 RecipeZaar event. I haven't tried it yet, but it's so quick and easy, has readily available ingredients, and looks so good, I might just make it before the day is out!
The recipe comes from the Hadassah Jewish Holiday Cookbook - a collection of traditional recipes from contemporary kosher kitchen. It was listed in the Passover section.
These are wonderful as a snack, part of a holiday basket, added to salads, as a topping to pumpkin pie or sweet potato casserole. They do get pretty sticky if exposed to moisture, my daughter loves them and calls them "sticky nuts." They are HIGHLY addictive, make a lot!
Holiday Treats! Can them for gifts! Top Christmas cookies with them! Garnish a salad with them. Or just eat them as is yummy good. Decorate a cake or pumpkin pie with them. Ok you know what you better double the recipe!
These are so fast and easy to make and look so pretty in a nice candy dish. This recipe only makes 1/2 pound (the program will not allow me a 1/2 so I put 1 pound...please ignore) so prepare to make a couple batches. They will go very fast.
I am a total fruit and nut fanatic. In fact, I have a huge bowl that I make my own combos in. I got kind of bored one day with my "usual", and decided to make my own sugared pecans. Here is what I came up with. ENJOY!
