The green rice at Stephenson's Apple Orchard Restaurant is just incredible. I know that there are several green rice recipes on here- but If you are from the K.C. metro area and are looking for a "green rice" recipe -this is probably what you are looking for. The unique greeny- lemony flavor mixed with the slightly creamy texture is deliciously unique- your taste buds will thank you!

    Recipe #324995

This is my Aunt Dainty's specialty! When we lived together, we had this just about every Sunday, but when I finally got out on my own, I craved our Sunday staple so bad! When I asked for the recipe, she said she wasn't even sure how she made it, but I was determined to try it until I felt it was right. This is what I came up with:

    Recipe #180531

This "recipe" comes from a 40 year old cook book I inherited when I met Russell! "Entertaining with Kerr". He was a pompus TV cook in Australia, and this is the only thing I've ever cooked out of the book. It's also the ONLY way I enjoy my rice (and we eat a lot of that!)

    Recipe #53546

This is a version of rice that you find at a Tex-Mex restaurant. It is way easier than it looks and after you have made it once or twice - you can do it by heart. My kids love it and I love that I can sneak a few veggies in! Can be made vegan with veggie broth.

    Recipe #91598

Based on TGirl,RN's Creamy Macaroni & Cheese for One (#88172), which is delicious. I have adapted it to feed a larger group. Be aware that measurements on seasonings are a rough estimate, as I am a 'taste and tweak as I go' kind of cook. You can adjust, as I have, to suit your personal palate. This will make one very full 9 x 13" baking dish, which is probably enough to feed 6 people as a main dish, or even more as a side dish. Would probably be good for a potluck crowd, too. If doing that I would try to bake it at the party, if possible, so the topping stays crispy.

    Recipe #122943

This easy meal has impressive presentation and taste! Great for potlucks or company served with garlic bread and a salad.

    Recipe #117534

This is my favorite baked bean recipe. Sweet, smoky, tangy, and full of flavor. Plus the contrast in colors of the beans make the dish look interesting. Always a big hit at picnics or potlucks. The original recipe was called "Five Dollar Beans" but it called for a lot of extra ingredients. It had a wonderful flavor, adults loved it, but the kids thought that it looked "weird". So I adapted the recipe for picky eaters and I actually like it much better this way. It was my daughter's idea to rename this dish "Three Dollar Beans".

    Recipe #108326

These beans smell so good when they are cooking and the results are a tasty, New Orleans style red beans and rice. I have tried several recipes but this one is easier than the others I've tried with an excellent result. Serve with cornbread or corn muffins and your meal is complete. Recipe is from Taste of Home magazine.

    Recipe #48913

I've been making rice and beans for a while now, I just finally perfected my recipe.

    Recipe #109404

My kids love these non-traditional burritos. I love the complimentary protein. And it is so easy!

This is a big hit at my house and pretty cheap to make too!

    Recipe #24476

I made up this recipe by looking at other low fat carbonara recipes and have been making it for ages. It doesn't take long to prepare. It is just the right amount for one serving or just double it for 2 serves. It's so creamy, you can't even tell it is low in fat!

    Recipe #113311

I love pasta. It's so versatile you could eat it every day of the week and not have the same dish twice. This dish is a throw-together type dish that is so easy. It's the 'whatever happens to be in the fridge or cupboard' type dish. You can add tuna, salmon, shrimp or even legumes as the protein, and any vegetable in the crisper, or none at all. Kick it up with more garlic and spices, or just salt and pepper. Your main ingredients form the staple of the recipe; pasta, egg and broth, and cheese.

Delicious by itself, mixed with some pasta or as a filling/stuffing for pasta or chicken breasts.

    Recipe #106233

Ok, My mom hates macaroni and cheese and when she tried this she instantly fell in love. My little brother(age 1 1/2) ate a whole plate.

    Recipe #103305

Don't remember where I got it from but everyone that has had it at my house LOVES it!

    Recipe #103504

This Chinese fried rice has the flavor those other recipes are missing. Tastes like takeout. I want to dedicate this dish to Bergy, whose recipe "AM & B's Indonesian Mehoon" has inspired this dish. Make sure you season your rice with salt before it cooks. Add some butter to the cooking water, as well. Other seasonings should be added before you cook, as well, so it has time to get inside the rice. If you like sesame flavor, add 1 tsp. of it after you add the green onions, but do not use it as a cooking oil because it easily burns.

This is posted in response to a request on the board. It is supposed to be something like the Lipton Noodles and Sauce. I just guessed on the serving amount. I haven't tried it yet.

    Recipe #56567

My mom's recipe for noodles. My DH doesn't care for noodles over mashed potatoes so I always make it as a special treat for my german shepherd, Ben, and I, when he is out of town. You can also add cooked, cubed chicken.

    Recipe #76748

This recipe came from a little lady from the south named Paula. This dish has spoiled my family so much that they no longer prefer the box macaroni and cheese. It's definitely a keeper in our home. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
