Essential Oil Room Air Freshener Spray Recipe Make your own essential oil air freshening sprays with this fun and easy recipe! You can bottle this and give it as gifts, or just enjoy using it in your own house every day!

    Recipe #92820

This will help take care of those fruit flies that gather around the stuff you have to take out to the compost pile or those bananas you haven't gotten around to baking with yet. The photo I posted (the one with the cherry & grape tomatoes) shows several fruit flies on the paper already (and a couple are in the vinegar, though you can't see them)--not even three minutes after making the trap! Some kinds of cider vinegar work better than others--typically, I find the darker the vinegar, the better it works. I know some people have said they prefer to use plastic wrap over the top, but I find that the paper cone (though it takes some fiddling to get it to fit just right) works best.

This is straight out of the laundry room of DH's grandmother; it works too! I've also entered this under the "kid friendly" category because there was no "parent friendly" category to choose from! This spray concoction has been a godsend when getting stains out of my toddlers clothes.

Perfect to prevent drains from clogging.

Works wonderfully masha Allah. Adapted from recipe#82410. Works well on the glass of cabinets too!

WOW! No streaks, no smears, no buffing. This will clean ceramic tile counter tops, windows and their vinyl casings, SS appliances, sealed wood AND it removes hairspray from mirrors. So far that's all I've tried it on, as I came up with this recipe just this morning. I've been a cleaning fool today, experimenting on everything. I love it...Let me know what you think.

Cleaning your microwave couldn't get any easier than this!

    Recipe #82412

No joke, this simple concotion from the famous, Vermont Folk Medicine book by D.C. Jarvis works like a miracle, but it's just Mother Nature at work for us. Apple Cider Vinegar is known to have so many medicinal/healing attributes, so put this one to work for your sore or strep throat. Yep....strep. This will knock the crapola out of the bacteria that's tryin' to knock the crap out of you. Be very sure that you are using real apple cider vinegar, as Heinz now makes an apple cider vinegar "flavored" liquid. (WHY??)

Does your hair feel limp and lifeless? Try this easy hair clarifier to remove some of the build-up.

    Recipe #52111

This makes an excellent gift. Make sure you make some for yourself too though because it really smells wonderful. Please note, you need to use whole cloves. Ground cloves are much stronger and will definitely overwhelm the other scents. If you aren't a fan of cloves, feel free to leave them out entirely. I do sometimes.

Is your laundry looking dingy? Are you seeing spots before your eyes? To keep your washer spotlessly clean, it is important to remember to give it a once over every six months, or every three months if you have hard water. Is your Dish Washer dingy? Green Tea is good for your outsides too. I found this online and am posting for the Comfort Cafe. You can substitute Sea Salt for the Epsom Salts and as well, potpourri for flower petals.

The name brand is expensive but this is an inexpensive alternative and less harmful to your clothes than bleach!

    Recipe #32716

This is a home remedy for that horrible cough that you just can't get rid of, and best of all: you probably already have all of the ingredients!

    Recipe #56268

A while back I saw a program where a textile conservator discussed taking the stains that come from age, along with tough stains out of any fabric. Sure she demonstrated it and it worked incredibly, but would it work THAT WELL when I tried it on my own? Probably not. BUT IT DID. It was phenomenal. A friend and I collect vintage G.I. Joe dolls and it took a 20+ year old magic marker stain completely out of a light colored garment. That's when I was sold. My sister kept a covered bucket of this mixture next to my neice's changing table when she was a baby. Parents know how difficult formula, milk and baby food stains are to get out. This works wonders.

    Recipe #112348

I found this while going through a nice book in Books-a-million, Casselberry, Florida. It seemed interesting and so I saved it to my book. Enjoy!

This is really good for between patio stones or rock areas that tend to sprout weeds. Do not use it on your lawn. The weeds will grow back but then just spray them again

This worked for me when scrubbing for hours wouldn't!!!!

This is great for sinks, showers and even hands. My husband fixed our roof and his hands were full of tar. He used this and the tar "melted off!" He said it was better than the hand cleaner mechanics use to get the oil off their hands! It shines my stainless steel sink, it doesn't scratch my stovetop and it is awesome on the tub. Best of all it is easy and cheap! I found it on a make your own cleaner website and it works!

    Recipe #85197

This is so much fun to do with your kids. The secret is it doesn't take that long! You also need a colander for this. We put ours in the kitchen sink and clean up was a breeze!
