    No Onion No Garlic

I have several friends who are allergic to edibles in the onion and garlic families, so I've begun collecting recipes for them. These recipes do not include those which use any seasoning mixes, salad dressing mixes, seasoned breadcrumbs, ketchup/catsup, soup mixes, or worchestershire sauce - all of which almost always contain onions/garlic. Onion/garlic family: leeks, shallots, scallions, all types of onion and garlic.

Superb chicken dish - light and tangy. Saw nothing like it in zaar. comes from healthy eating chicken book. Also looks like a resturant dish.

    Recipe #172300

This is on nearly every Russian restaurant menu. The mushrooms make this dish, so choose flavorful ones like shitake or chantrelles. Mix them with button or portobello mushrooms if you like.

First, a little information: Sushiman and I have 8 kids together. A meal alone at home with just the two of us is usually a non-existant event. But last night the planets were aligned correctly, and it was just the two of us. We had originally planned to go out for a quick bite to eat, but I decided to take advantage of the privacy and cook us a romantic dinner. I had no idea what to make, but the inspiration just came to me while I was in the supermarket. This recipe is an original creation that evolved as I was making it last night. I'm so impressed with myself I just had to share it with you. The quantities here are just enough for two, but you can double (triple, quadruple) the ingredients for the amount of people you want to feed.

Ground beef mixture encased in a potato mixture and fried to a golden brown. An Iraqi snack, appetizer or as part of a meal. They are scarily addictive and delicious. Also, really ideal if you have some extra boiled potatoes you are looking to use up.

I saw this being made on Saturday Kitchen and made it the same evening. The chef on the programme used one large and thick chicken breast which he halved horizontal to make two thin slices of the breast. Because the chicken breasts I had were small I used two and pounded them to make them larger and thinner. That is how I will write down this recipe and leave it up to you to adjust the cooking time depending on the thickness of the chicken you will be using. If you don't have woody rosemary sprigs, just use wooden skewers.

Flank steak grilled with a sweet spicy rub.

Obviously you can use whatever greens or veggies you prefer here - the sauce and the toasted almonds make this a royal dish!! It's incredibly healthy and incredibly yummy - perfect for after the gym when you really don't want anything heavy. I often just eat this with nothing else - but if I'm more hungry, with dahl or naan bread. Also makes a great unusual veg dish for dinner parties.

Delicious! It is served here in a local Basque restaurant, and pairs well with rice or pasta. This can easily be made with less butter or no cream, if you'd like.

If not for salmon, used the fragrant oil to drizzle on corn, chicken, mozzarella, roasted veggies, pasta, or fresh bread. Oil can be stored in fridge in an airtight container for 2 weeks.

I have not made this yet, I will update the introduction after I prepare it. Source: Chef Stefan Mueller prepared this for the Atlantic Seafood Festival in Moncton NB in 2003. The chef has cooked for Queen Elizabeth II and President Bush Sr so these must be good!

    Recipe #188767

This is the perfect fall dish. It is a great blend of sweet and savory. As soon as apple season comes around, I hit the local apple orchard for fresh cider just to make this dish!
