    This is a low carb alternative to fried tomatoes that is easy to make and tastes great. Good for the unripe tomatoes that fall off the vine before it's time (you know when you weed and knock them off)or the end of the harvest. I did make with red too and they came out just as good. The green are firm and tangy and the red are soft and sweet. A nice side, place in a sandwich or top pasta. Oh and great on a pizza!But there goes the carb watching! Take note that the fat in the marinade is not all used so the calculations are off.

    Do use any color or even better a combination of colors be it red, orange, yellow. Yes, you can do this stove top over direct flame of in a very hot oven. I prefer the smokiness of them on the grill. Add to salads, sandwiches, puree and spice it up for a dip or sandwich spread, in a wrap, Make a roasted pepper pasta sauce, and to salsa, rice and beans, great on an on pizza, wrap a cooked shrimp or scallop, or simply as a side veggie. Endless possibilities!

    I used sparkling water just because I ran out of bottled water and I'm not a fan of tap. Give this a try. The optional ingredients can be skipped or changed to which spices you enjoy for a little something extra. Of course you would use the garlic for savory pies and cinnamon for dessert or curry type pies. But if using real garlic and not powdered do add after rising. Because garlic does kill yeast. I have made the dough with powdered garlic with no problems. Pizza is a great way to get your children into cooking.
