Thanks to one of my favorite Zaar vegetable recipes for inspiring this herb mixture. I make a small jar of this, then have it on hand when I need a quick ZIP to add to cooked (frozen) broccoli or cauliflower or vegetable medleys. Ideas below for add-ins to make a memorable side dish the kids will be begging you to make again and again!

    Recipe #382336

Wisconsin is famous for more than being "The Dairy State." We are also one of the largest producers (in the world) for the humble cranberry. Here--thanks to Frances Bissell, and her *Preserving Nature's Bounty*--is an ode to the Queen of Thanksgiving dinner.

    Recipe #254754

There's almost nothing easier--just zap a couple ingredients in the microwave, a bit of stirring and you've got a WOW sauce for your ice cream or add to a smoothie or drizzle over a coffeecake. Oh dear, there goes the diet! *Everyday Food* from Martha Stewart

    Recipe #373821

Keep a bottle handy and cheer up the dreariest winter day! Credit goes to Frances Bissell *Preserving Nature's Bounty* Serving size is merely a "suggestion"....

    Recipe #254760

Extraordinary combination of flavors, just right ANY time of the year. Use whatever apples are your favorite, we prefer Gala or Braeburn (skip the lemon juice), but Delicious or Golden work just as well, too.

    Recipe #278376

The Queen of Thanksgiving ascends her throne in this recipe. Double or quadruple the recipe---because you'll want to eat a LOT of this! Thanks to Frances Bissell *Preserving Nature's Bounty* for this one!

    Recipe #254987

The title is pretty self-explanatory, and I think you'll agree that this is a nice way to spend a summer evening. Kettle (crunchy) potato chips on the side, a couple of home-made cookies or a brownie, some carrot sticks, and you've got a pretty decent brown-bag lunch, too. The original recipe (from Taste of Home, Aug/Sep 09) calls for pumpernickel bread.

    Recipe #386381

You won't need to run through the sprinkler to cool off when you're having one of these babies! The kids will love you, your friends will think you've worked for hours (you haven't!), and your spouse will be thrilled you saved so much money on this lovely "dessert".... Taste-Of-Home, Summer '09

    Recipe #373750

Answering the question of "What to do with all this leftover turkey?"...here's the answer!! And WHAT an answer! Be prepared for all the oohs and ahhs that will involuntarily emit from your dining companions. Truly something for which to be thankful! Prep time does NOT include bread-dough rising time. In a pinch you could use a loaf of Rhoades frozen bread dough--thawed.

    Recipe #260800

This is a great panzanella bread salad using up those leftover pieces of turkey meat, rolls, and cranberries. Alternately, you could use Texas Toast croutons (from the store) or toast up some of the leftover rolls instead of using Italian bread. Thanks to the Taste Of Home folks for a great way to make the day after Thanksgiving as tasty as the Big Dinner.

    Recipe #386416

A friend brought these over when our youngest son was born on Thanksgiving Day 1991. We've served these faithfully--every year since then--and would probably be exiled if we didn't! I love making these with whichever niece or daughter is handy--we make memories along with the rolls! IF there are leftover rolls, serve them later on for making turkey sammies! Cooking time is approximate as rising time largely depends on how warm or cool your kitchen is.

    Recipe #266330

A new presentation of a seasonal favorite: caramel apples with a twist--in a pie shell! What a combination--sure to please family & friends gathered around the table. The original recipe comes from Taste of Home's *Best of Country Cooking 2003*

    Recipe #281915

Less-messy than a taco, and you don't have to bend your head side-ways to eat them either! A tasty twist on the same-old thing burger! Something different to serve for Cinco de Mayo, too!!! Thanks to Taste of Home Holiday (Barbecues) cookbooklet for this recipe, Summer 2009.

    Recipe #382304

From Susan Branch's "Summer" book...what a great idea! This makes enough for two large drinks or four smaller ones if you just want to get a taste!

    Recipe #256094

Sophisticated & elegant is how Susan Branch describes this in her "Summer" book. I would add "divine" and leave it at that! Since I have a huge raspberry patch, I'm always on the look-out for useful ways to put them to work! This is my take-off from Susan's recipe. Cooking time is chilling time.

    Recipe #243928

A dab of this on a home-made scone--oooh, it's SO good! Thanks to Susan Branch for her creativity in her "Autumn" book--loaded with wonderful ideas to make autumn my NEW "favorite time of the year" (it used to be Spring).

    Recipe #257956

Nothing fancy here; in fact you can customize to suit your tastes and come out looking like a winner every time! Cooking time is for re-freezing the cookies after making them. You can skip this part if you're really impatient or the children NEED nourishment! Make a batch of your favorite cookies, then set a few "pairs" aside to make a special treat. Or how about being the Cool Mom who brings these to the next potluck or picnic? Wow, Mom! Excellent for a late night snack, star-gazing, or after an appointment with the lawn mower on a hot afternoon!

    Recipe #382332

Always on the look-out for make-ahead breakfast recipes featuring produce we have handy on our little farm. I can see the rhubarb from the window nearby, and in June we head for a nearby berry farm to pick strawberries. This recipe comes from Reiman's *Best of Country Cooking 2003* cookbook.

    Recipe #280364

This is an extravagant splurge, so please cut the pieces in skinny slivers and the calorie count isn't so damaging! Make sure the cream cheese is at room temp for the best consistency of the batter. Try using orange flavoring instead of the usual vanilla--the orange and the chocolate will POP in your mouth. Cooking time does NOT include chilling time...so please PLAN AHEAD---this needs time to chill. Gotta love those folks at Gooseberry Patch--for always publishing such excellent recipes! Mmm-good!

    Recipe #318986

My five Sisters-In-Law Kerr (SILK) get together once-a-year for a girly weekend. One year SILK-ster #3 themed our whole weekend around a "tea party." She pulled out ALL the stops: the good china, linen, crystal--WOW! This recipe was served in beautiful little glass bowls, with a dash of 7-Up poured over it. COOKING TIME reflects time needed for the freezer. Add ONE HOUR for thawing at serving time.
