    I got this recipe out of the September issue of BBC Good Food Magazine. I made it last night for a dinner party and it was delicious! I love the herby crust which went really well with the underlying flavor of the Dijon and honey. I served it with a potato gratin and steamed asparagus.

    Spicy, tangy, but nice. Delicious on its own, or with ice cream, cheesecake or even on toast. If you like marmalade, then you'll like this. Note:Kumquats are hard to find, and sometimes expensive, so I recommend finding somebody who grows them or grow your own plant- kumquat plants are like chilli plants, they're very easy to grow. It's all definitely worth it, but if anybody finds a suitable substitute be sure to let me know!

    Don't let the length of this recipe put you off! Practically everything can be done in advance. And, the individual steps are easy. But what a reward! This has been our Christmas Dinner for decades. It is the merger of two recipes: Julia Child's "The French Chef Cookbook", and a local restaurant that published their recipe in our local paper.     A nice extravagant way to end the year! Also to start the New Year! New Year 2011 I made stuffed eggs using wasabi caviar. My eggs peeled so nice I just had to stuff them. Using less mayo/ smart balance. And a touch of horseradish mustard to the yolk mixture.

    These are delightful as appetizers at the holidays or as a side dish for a romantic Valentine's dinner. Twice cooked baby red potatoes are topped with chives and red caviar. Red caviar is not expensive and you only need a small jar. If you prefer to use more expensive caviar, the red and green theme still shows in the red potatoes and chives. A bit of work, but they can be done ahead, ready for the oven.
