A friend made this and I had to have the recipe. She didn't put the nuts in the cake but instead used them to sprinkle on top of the icing -- I prefer that because, if you don't like nuts, it's easier to pick them out.
One of my favourites, based on a recipe I found in Food that Really Schmecks (written by Edna Staebler). This is supposed to be plain old-fashioned comfort food, in case you're wondering about the lack of seasonings. It's wonderful when you just want something homey. Feel free to experiment with veggies; I've used green beans once, plus I add celery sometimes. This is a real treat particularly for dumpling lovers.
Leftover turkey shines in this make-ahead curry. I often reduce the amount of curry powder as my family doesn't like it, but feel free to spice this how you please. I use fresh pineapple but it works well with the canned.
This easy creation can be served as a one-dish vegetarian meal, or forget about the pasta and sauce and just serve the veggies as a side dish. This was created one night recently when I couldn't decide on dinner.
