The recipe, from Ontario's Cataract Inn, is an excellent base for a salad dressing. The vinegar keeps well if refrigerated; expect it to last about a year.

    Recipe #122188

Don't these sound delicious?! Posted in response to a request.

    Recipe #114634

According to the recipe's author, you can substitute lamb if you can't find, or dislike, goat.

    Recipe #12581

I created this boozy concoction for a Xmas party in 1979 and it was such a hit I've made it every year since. It's very tasty.

    Recipe #12606

This looks very pretty in the jar, tastes yummy, and makes a great gift too. Serve with chicken or pork, or on crackers with cream cheese.

    Recipe #12640

Easy strawberry jam done in the microwave.

    Recipe #12721

Easy fruit jam made quickly in a microwave oven.

    Recipe #12773

Nice addition to a Christmas sweets tray.

    Recipe #12934

This is absolutely delicious served on toast. Makes lots so you'll have plenty for gifts.

    Recipe #12949

This is quite tart and lovely with a variety of foods. Meat lovers will want to serve this with pork.

    Recipe #12955

These are very tasty, easy, and keep well in the fridge. Makes 16, but my husband likes to eat 2 per serving!

    Recipe #13175

To keep the fudgy centres runny, time the preparation of the cakes so they can be served hot from the oven.

    Recipe #13547

A friend made this and I had to have the recipe. She didn't put the nuts in the cake but instead used them to sprinkle on top of the icing -- I prefer that because, if you don't like nuts, it's easier to pick them out.

    Recipe #13827

A pastry recipe calling for neither butter nor shortening, but oil instead.

    Recipe #13846

Here is a Friendship Coffee Cake made with yeast; recipe for both starter and cake.

    Recipe #13859

These yummy treats are one of my favourites on a Christmas cookie tray. Better than fruitcake!

    Recipe #14304

One of my favourites, based on a recipe I found in Food that Really Schmecks (written by Edna Staebler). This is supposed to be plain old-fashioned comfort food, in case you're wondering about the lack of seasonings. It's wonderful when you just want something homey. Feel free to experiment with veggies; I've used green beans once, plus I add celery sometimes. This is a real treat particularly for dumpling lovers.

This pie is claimed to be not as sickly-sweet as traditional pecan pies; I've not tried it, so please let me know if this is true or not!

    Recipe #14516

Leftover turkey shines in this make-ahead curry. I often reduce the amount of curry powder as my family doesn't like it, but feel free to spice this how you please. I use fresh pineapple but it works well with the canned.

    Recipe #14805

This easy creation can be served as a one-dish vegetarian meal, or forget about the pasta and sauce and just serve the veggies as a side dish. This was created one night recently when I couldn't decide on dinner.
