    This is called salata cadas and made with lentils slightly cooked with olive oil, garlic, and spices. Clifford Wright made this as a meze at the Tikka Grill, a restaurant on the corniche of Alexandria in Egypt. Enjoy!

    Learned to make and like this dish many years ago when living in Egypt. I've served it up many times as an appetizer or with a plate of party food. Can be eaten hot or cold.

    Entered for safe-keeping. From June 2012 Vegetarian Times. This mix of coarsely ground nuts and spices is served with olive oil and bread for dipping with breakfast, or as a snack or appetizer.
