A fabulous classic English dish which I have slightly adapted from a version I found on an English website and which I'm posting for the 2005 Zaar World Tour. It makes an ideal light lunch or supper snack.
A very nice vegetarian appetizer that is served warm with assorted crusty breads. Recipes4us.co.uk website is where I found this recipe and it will also be included in the Zaar World Tour 2005 Swap, Britain.
A light version of baked stuffed portobello mushrooms, suitable for Phase 1 of the South Beach diet and probably other diets as well. Submitted for Ready Set Cook Winter 2005. Note: spinach or mushroom haters should avoid this recipe.
This is a fairly easy "go with" for any number of dishes.
With smaller mushrooms this can also be used as an appetizer or finger-food snack.
For a small number of stuffed mushrooms you can just as easily use a toaster oven.
These are good for an everyday supper since they're so easily prepared, yet look no further of you want something elegant enough to present at a dinner party. This dish is nice served on a bed of pasta topped with Tomato Sauce.
This is an appetizer I remember eating at many potlucks, family gatherings, and parties while growing up in NY state. Make sure you line the baking sheet with foil as these tend to ooze while baking. Adapted from "Best of the Best from New York Cookbook" by Quail Ridge Press.
My husband and I are crazy about stuffed portabello mushrooms and have tried many recipes from Zaar. Last night, we came up with a version that does not cover up the taste of the mushroom. We love this with our grilled steak. Grilling the mushrooms for a short period of time really made a difference for us in this recipe. Hope you enjoy. Prep time is estimated.
This is a VERY good Alfredo dish, My Daughter made it at Christime time when she was here. Everyone loved it and ask for the recipe. Even my picky grandson wanted the recipe. The Recipe can be doubled as this is what she did, It was delicious. I don't know where she got the recipe.
