    More-Than-Twice!

In the Zaar universe, there are so many wonderful recipes that getting back to favourites is tough. So many recipes to try! Here you'll find a collection of recipes from Zaar chefs that I've made not once, not twice, but at least three times — real family favourites. There are many deserving recipes — ones my family enjoy — that I just haven't had the time to get to more than twice, but as I do they'll find their way into this cookbook!

    A fav summer salad

    Recipe #10158

A easy-to-make inexpensive potato salad. The homemade dressing for this is really good and I feel what makes it so good, and works equally well with macaroni salad. This is my mom's recipe, and her mom made it before her. I use about 6 hard-boiled eggs because I like my potato salad with more eggs. The prep and cook time is only a estimate, as I've never timed how long it takes to make this. If you use mayo instead of Miracle Whip I'd suggest starting with only 1 T. sugar and adding more to taste as mayo is sweeter than Miracle Whip. And of course please feel free to adapt this recipe ingredient-wise to your familie's preferences.

    Recipe #20907

I have been poaching eggs in the microwave for many years. For me this is the best way to prepare poached eggs for 2. It is quick, easy and almost foolproof. Please make sure you use a toothpick to pierce the yolk before cooking or it will explode!

This is how my Granny made sweet tea and it is some kind of sweet. Know that and beware. Pa-Paw used to down 2-3 glasses after working in the garden all day. Back off the sugar if you can't handle it. This one is for true southerners only ;)

I loved it when Mom used to make this for us! I have no idea if she originally made it for Dad, who had been in the army, or if she just liked it because it tasted good and was a budget stretcher. A traditional favorite, good ol' SOS. Note: the title of this recipe specifies that it is made ground beef, rather than chipped beef; "authentic" SOS is generally made with chipped beef, however many folks also refer to the ground beef version by the same name.

This makes a very moist cornbread

Just what you want on a hot day or with a BBQ. If you want an alcoholic drink add an oz of rum or rye or vodka. Please note you are not adding sugar but there is sugar in the sweetened condensed milk.

    Recipe #29570

These sweet crepe-like pancakes get rolled up into mini jelly roll shapes and are a real hit with children. I serve these often to overnight guests - especially during holiday gatherings. You may use whatever jelly you prefer, we like raspberry or blackberry with seeds the best. The cook time is an approximation of how long I personally take to cook all of the batter - it only takes a few minutes for each crepe.

Everyone in my family loves these. Dad keeps asking me to make them and send them over. Great ginger and molasses flavour.

    Recipe #16746

I found this peach cobbler recipe on the internet from the Salt Lick Restaurant in Austin, TX. Everyone loves this recipe so much I have to make a double batch! Feel free to cut back on the sugar. Everyone has and the peach cobbler still comes out perfect. :D Personally, I always use two bags of frozen peaches instead of canned.

    A tasty and easy dish!

    Recipe #29424

This is a quick and easy weekday supper for the busy cook.

This is similar to" Toad in the hole", just a slightly different version. Love it on a blustery night. Instead of meatballs take a shortcut (shown in the photo) use sausages - I used hot Italian and made only half the recipe. Worked well. I browned the sausages for 15 minutes in the oven before pouring in the Ice Cold Yorkshire Pudding. The Yorkshire was light and tasty.

An easy appetizer or part of a meal. Try using other dressings for a different taste, use cilantro instead of parsley or add some chili powder for an extra zing

Something easy and delicious. You can serve it either hot or cold. Goes great in chicken salad.

    Recipe #16576

This is a holiday favorite from my mother. She makes these every year.

    Recipe #15416

My daughter hates Sloppy Joes, I got her to try these and now this is the only kind she will eat.

    Recipe #32576

This is another one of those recipes with no quantities because the amounts depend upon the size of the piece of brie. If you have ever been a little bit afraid of trying to bake brie yourself, you will find this recipe extremely simple. Enjoy it.
