    Marshmallow Fondant (Easy)
    Handle
    2 Reviews |  By grunig

I got this recipe from another site. I will post the URL below. It was SUPER easy to use, and I had never worked with any fondant before. This one is a keeper. http://whatscookingamerica.net/PegW/Fondant.htm

    Copycat Win Schulers Bar Cheese
    Handle

This is as close the real McCoy as you can get. This is a keeper!! I came up with this after much trial and error. Very easy to make and highly addictive! I recommend using good quality fresh prepared horseradish, usually found in the refrigerator section. Instead of Cheese Whiz as listed, I actually used Walmart store brand jarred cheese with EXCELLENT RESULTS!(cheaper too). If you are not a big garlic fan, do not deviate from the amount listed. My first try I used more and it was a bit overpowering, good thing I happen to like garlic. Cook time is chill time.

    Acorn Meal

Acorn meal can be used in place of corn meal. Most cooks usually substitute acorn meal for half of the corn meal in a recipe. Look through my recipes for more uses for acorn meal. Time does not including drying time which is optional.

    Pear Butter

    4 Reviews |  By Rita~

This recipe I found in Ball recipe book Tweaked a lot.I used my vita mix so I didn't need to cook, peel or seed my pears.I just pureed them then cooked with rest of ingredients. If you need to you can peel, seed and cook to soften the pears then puree in food processor. I just like the idea of all the vitamins and fiber I get to have because of this method. The prep time is what it took me from start(fruit) to finish(butter). This can be used on bread, waffles, pour it on a layer of cream cheese for a cracker spread, serve with a pork roast or turkey. Try it straight out of the jar.

    Brown Sugar Exfoliating Bath Scrubs
    Handle

Good enough to eat! This sugar scrub recipe is great for buffing, polishing and exfoliating your dry skin. I love to use this right after I shave or before I apply any self-tanners. Exfoliating properly before applying self-tanners will extend the life of your "tan".

    Simple Sugar Scrub
    Handle

This a simple to make and easy to use sugar scrub. You may have seen simmilar versions selling in chain stores that are expensive. However, this is simple to make and easy to make variations of. Its good for exfoliating any part of your body and seems to work well on my sensitive skin. It makes my skin soft without having to spend a lot which is important when you are a broke student! I hope you enjoy! This originally callled for one cup olive oil, but i have since changed it to 1/2 cup to reflect the reccomendations of others.

    Gingerbread Christmas Ornaments
    Handle

These look and smell like real gingerbread, but are not edible! They are extremely cute ornaments for the tree, and can be decorated with acrylic paint once they are dry! They harden up very well, and will last for years if cared for. I have so many good memories of taking out the tin of these on Christmas, and having the house smell like gingerbread instantly while trimming the tree! Note: Prep time includes cooling time before baking, as well as hardening time after baking.

    Crystal Ornaments (Borax)

My daughters and I make these every year. You can change the look of the crystals by using different color and textures of pipe cleaners (chenille stems). Just choose your color and choose your shape: stars, snowflakes, trees, gingerbread men. The girls especially love using glittery white and silver ones to make 'snowflakes'. We don't just do these at Christmas, either We've used them on our Christmas tree, to hang in our windows, to decorate packages and gift baskets, for grandparents, initials (fun to spell out the kids' names), mobiles, etc. One year we found red and white striped pipe cleaners and made really cute hearts for Valentine's Day to take with a plate of cookies to some shut-in's. They make darling flowers, too. The only limit is your imagination. :o) They are fairly sturdy but the crystals can be knocked off if hit too hard so we spray ours with clear acrylic spray paint/shellac when they're dry (especially the ornaments that we want to use year after year). We haven't tried adding food color to the water yet, but that's on our list of possible variations to see if it works the same. We have also tried reheating and reusing the solution, but with mixed results and you would need to dissolve more Borax in if you do that.

    Bisqueware Ornaments
    Handle

At one of the newspapers where I wrote hard news, I was responsible for a weekly feature called "Now You're Cookin' " During one Christmas season, recipes for clays were in the order of the week. I got the recipes from a complimentary copy of Homemade Good News, published by the Savanah Foods Company. This clay does indeed have the look, feel and texture of of authentic porcelain bisqueware! It can be used for cookie cutter designs and for free-form modeling as well as simple molding techniques. Because you don't bake them (they air dry), there is no color variation. They remain as white as the season's first snowfall! Cook time and "servings" listed are approximate, but close.

Looks like a fun afternoon project for DD and I. From northpole.com. I'm not sure as to yield. I guess it depends on how big you cut your ornaments.
