    Homemade Cat Food
    Handle

We have a 20-year old cat, Smoki, who is a bit finicky, so I went looking for a recipe he would like. This one is my modification of Recipe #91152, adjusting it to utilize an entire one pound container of chicken livers. (The cat is the only one in the house who likes liver.) I also poach the livers before chopping to make them keep better in the fridge. Smoki loves this recipe, and it is cheaper than premium cat food. Our other cat, Hector, is only 18 months, and he loves it, too.

My dog loved these, I took a taste too since it was human ingredients and they werent bad (a little on the dry side but my dog didnt think so) I imagine you could make them without the bread machine if you simply keaded the dough, let it rise and knead again just like youd do for bread.

My little dog who is very fussy loves these homemade cookies, although the recipe calls for 2-3 tbsp brown sugar you could always add a wee bit more if desired. These make a wonderful Christmas present for doggies, purchase a cheap doggie bowl, fill with baked dog cookies then wrap in coloured paper, I have given these out many times at the holidays to friends that have dogs, oh and my two kittys love them too ;-)

It's Raining Cat and Dog Balls! (Treats)
    Handle

I combined a couple of favorite recipes to come up with this ground beef-based treat and my cats loved them. Sweet Pea skipped the cut up pieces and went straight for the balls. I managed to photograph her attacking them, then redirected her to the more appropriate-sized portion for delicate little girl kitties. ;)

I picked up this recipe from the local vet clinic several years ago - it contained garlic. I have since received information from a qualified member that garlic & onions are poison to cats and so I have removed the garlic from the recipe - it may not be as tasty but it will be safe - Thanks to the member that sent me the info! There is however some controversy as to the harmful effects of garlic & onion on cats - Check with your local vet,

For 10-Pound Cat I found this recipe in the Toronto Star. It was adapted from "Small Animal Clinical Nutrition." NOTE: Take care with calcium supplements such as bone meal or eggshell in animals with kidney or urinary tract problems. Opinions vary on whether or not to add grains to a feline diet. Likewise, opinions differ on vitamin and mineral requirements. Make sure your pet is getting adequate vitamins and minerals. NOTE: Always consult your veterinarian or pet nutrition specialist before changing your cat's diet.
