    Amazing flavor, and so simple! No salt needed here. In fact, you may wish to use half the ranch dressing mix to cut back on the saltiness. Found this Crock-Pot pot roast recipe on of a website called www.recipegoldmine.com. It's all the rage there, so I thought I'd try it.

    The tortilla adds a delicious crunchy shell and it smells so good while it is cooking. I actually made up this recipe from items in my kitchen and couldn't believe how wonderful it tasted! It is now a hit in my family and so EASY to make. Please rate and give feedback. Update: Since I first made this five years ago, we still enjoy this at least once a month. I have found that I can alternate the ingredients to use up items I have in the fridge. I have used mushrooms, sauteed onions, cherry tomatoes and even feta cheese instead of cheddar cheese. And it always comes out fantastic. I have also found that there are times I need to use more or less eggs depending on the ingredients. Also, a glass pie pan is so much better than a metal as it toasts the tortilla just right. Such an easy recipe with gourmet taste!

    I loved it when Mom used to make this for us! I have no idea if she originally made it for Dad, who had been in the army, or if she just liked it because it tasted good and was a budget stretcher. A traditional favorite, good ol' SOS. Note: the title of this recipe specifies that it is made ground beef, rather than chipped beef; "authentic" SOS is generally made with chipped beef, however many folks also refer to the ground beef version by the same name.

The original recipe called for a 10 oz pkg of frozen peas to be added during the last 15 minutes of cooking. I usually add a little rosemary and cayenne. Can add the spices you wish.     This is total comfort food at it's best, I have been making this for over 20 years and it is still one of my family's favorite meals, a must served with mashed potatoes or fries, this also will work great using pork chops, not the fast fry chops --- this ground beef amount should give you 7-8 fair-sized burgers but will depend on how large you make them, and will also work great using thicker cut pork chops, if desired you may use your own favorite recipe to season the hamburger --- you will need a large skillet for this recipe or your electric fry pan will work great, do not add in any salt to the soup mixture or the burgers the dry onion soup mix is salty enough, I also recommend using low-sodium mushroom soup --- also see my recipe#318998

    Cabbage and meat mildly seasoned with garlic and onions in a creamy cheese sauce and topped with breadcrumbs for a pretty presentation! A real comfort food. Even those who say they HATE cabbage will eat this and like it! I have even made this without the meat- using bulgur and veggie broth. Here is how: Just replace the meat with the same amount of bulgur- (for 1 lb of meat sub 1 cup bulgur) you will want to soak the bulgur according to the instructions on the package- if you bought it in bulk here is how... Bring 2 cups of veggie broth ( can use bouillon and water) per 1 cup bulgur When broth is boiling stir in bulgur. Cover and simmer about 15 minutes or until bulgur is soft. All the broth should be absorbed. Fluff the bulgur with a fork as you would rice and add to your recipe. I have used beef, pork, turkey and chicken with great results too. *See NOTE for freezing, make ahead and left over tips*
